I sat on my bed, unable to sleep. Azamuku was sitting next to a sleeping Gaara, keeping watch over him. "Azamuku." I said, breaking the silence. "Yes?" She replied, looking up at me. I hesitated for a moment then shook my head. "It's nothing." I said. I heard her chuckle then look over at me. "You're jealous." She said. "What?! No!" I said, loudly whispering. "It's alright to admit it. Besides. I have one for us too. Ours takes a bit more coordination." She said.

"We have to move in a specific way and basically let our bodies flow to a rhythm." She continued. I gave a small grin and let out a laugh. "You're also jealous of my bond with Gaara." She said. I sighed and nodded. "It's just that... I've never seen someone bond so well with another person." I said looking away.

"And you want us to bond like that." She said. I nodded shyly, looking at anything but her. I heard her sigh then get off Gaara's bed and join me on mine. "Sasuke. We will never bond like Gaara and I have. Only because the bond he and I share is a family bond. You and I share a different bond." She said. "Ever wonder why you can jump into my head at will but others I have to pull in? Why you can feel every bit of emotion that I have?" She asked.

I nodded a bit and looked at her. "My bloodline allows me to project emotion and chakra... but the emotions only get felt if I push them onto others myself, or if I'm tied to a person on a deeper level." She said. "A deeper level?" I asked. "It wasn't Itachi that decided I was to be with you. His bloodline... YOUR bloodline... called out and said 'save her. She's the one you need.' In a sense, the fact that I was near him, offset something in him that told him I was supposed to be here and be in your life." She said.

"That's why he wants me to protect you. You're the one that helps me recreate our clans." I said, softly. She nodded. It wasn't long until Gaara began to toss and turn. "Sasuke. Stay here." She ordered, jumping off the bed. She ran over to Gaara and cradled him in her arms again. Shortly after, his screaming started. She held his head to her chest and rocked, comforting him.

I quickly closed the bedroom door, so the screaming didn't wake the other two. "Come on Gaara. Come back to me. Don't let him win. I know you're stronger than this." She whispered. His screaming subsided and without another sound, he would be right back to sleep. "That's the first time I've calmed him down without having to wake him up." She said, smiling. Gaara rolled in his sleep a bit, stuffing his face to her chest. "Oh boy. You're lucky. If you were anyone else other than Sasuke, I'd knock you over the head right now..." She said adjusting him so that he wasn't in her breasts.

I glanced at a clock on the wall reading the time off. "5 in the morning..." I said sighing. Sleepless didn't begin to describe the night. My head was spinning. I couldn't stop thinking about how we were to go on a journey that could either make us or break us as individuals. "We'll be fine." Azamuku said, smiling at me. "I'm not worried about it. We know what we're after. And though we may not like it... we know who we have to go to to get it." She said.

I sighed and nodded in agreement. "We leave Friday." I said. She nodded and looked at Gaara. "He'll understand. He has to." She said, whimpering a bit. "He will." I said, walking to her. "Because this time, you're coming back. And stronger." I said, draping her hair over her left shoulder and kissing the seal on her right. "You two are so cute. And to think you're only 16." Temari said from Gaara's doorway.

"How much did you hear?" Azamuku asked. "All of it." Temari replied. "And I promise he'll understand." She said, before glancing at Azamuku's bare shoulder and seeing the black markings. "So that's it, huh? That's what I saw when you stopped Kankuro from killing Sasuke." She said, walking in and sitting at the edge of the bed. "Yes. It's a heaven curse seal. It was.... Placed... by Orochimaru." I said.

"I know Gaara is going to want to try and help. But Sasuke and I have to go about this alone." Azamuku said. "We're going to do what we were marked for... And once done, we'll be on our way back." I said. "And there won't be a damn thing he could do to stop us. He's signed his death certificate early. And he doesn't know it yet." She said. "I wish the best of luck to you both. I know you'll come back. And, Sasuke?" Temari said. "Yeah?" I answered. "If you let her die..." She started. "You might as well kneel in front of Gaara and let him kill you." She finished, leaving the room. I can't. I won't! Your life is in my hands and it's going to be handled as if it were glass.
