Chapter twenty-four
Aston and I had settled down to watch TV after a while, putting on anything that could make him laugh or smile but not even the inbetweeners did the trick. I accepted he would be down for the next few days but I understood that.
"Ast." I said, realising the time was coming on midnight and we should probably head to bed.
"Aston." I said a little louder after getting no response. Come to think of it there hadn't been a peep from him for a while. I looked down and saw he had fallen asleep. I smiled and stroked his cheek gently, the touch making him wake up which meant he probably hadn't been out for
long. He rubbed his eyes and turned his head to look up at me from where he had his head rested on a pillow on my lap.
"Babe its almost midnight, we should get to bed." I said quietly.
"Yeah." He yawned and slowly sat up. I moved the pillow off my lap and turned off the tv by the remote. We both got up off the sofa and I turned all the lights off while Aston checked the door to make sure it was locked.
"Come on then you." I smiled as I waited for him by the stairs. He smiled weakly and followed me up them and into the bedroom.
"You got a top I can borrow?" I asked and turned to face him, seeing he was already one step ahead of me and was getting one for me from his wardrobe.
"Thanks." I said and got undressed, pulling it over myself.
"Hey, this is the one you wore on out first date." I smiled as I looked down at it and got taken back to that night. He nodded and smiled too.
"You still have it?" I asked, shocked he still owned when it was years ago and the colour was starting to wash out.
"Of course, I've never had the heart to throw it out when I've had endless clear outs." He chuckled and shook his head shamelessly.
"Thats sweet, I'm glad you haven't."
"You wore it remember." He smirked.
"Yeah.." I said as I blushed scarlet and remembered what we got up to on the beach on our very first date.
"Wasn't exactly ideal for a first date." I giggled and put my clothes on the chair in the corner of the room.
"Was a lot of fun though." He grinned cheekily and just about dodged my hand that was supposed to slap his arm.
"What can I say? You charmed me."
"Yeah, I have that effect on women."
"Oh, you make a habbit of sleeping with girls on the first date?" I rose my eyebrows at him through the mirror.
"Nope, just you." He chuckled.
"Well I would say I'm flattered but I'm not so sure whether that was a compliment or your way of saying I looked easy."
"Definitely a compliment, I was young and didn't know how to control myself, plus you did look insanely hot that night." He said as he made his way over to me.
"What you bullshitting about? You still can't control yourself now." I giggled as I watched him smirk and duck his head to kiss my neck in the mirror.
"I'm sorry for bringing up our sluttish date."
"Its okay, anything to see that smile again." I said and turned in his grip, resting my hands on his cheeks as he beamed away at me.
"You always make things seem that bit better." He smiled. I smiled too and kissed him quickly. I climbed into bed while Aston went to do his nightly routine. Snuggling down in the duvet I watched Aston strip down to his boxers and get in next to me, switching off his bedside lamp. It was quiet for a few seconds before Aston shuffled around in an attempt to find me and cuddle me.
"Aston!" I giggled as his hand 'accidentally' landed on my chest.
"Whoops, sorry." He chuckled but I could sense that smirk as his hands easily found my waist after that and pulled me closer.
"You're too cheeky for your own good." I mumbled into his chest.
"Thats my middle name." He laughed as his arms tightly enveloped me into his body. My left arm slung across his torso as I cuddled as close to him as I could.
"Baby?" Aston whispered after a moments silence.
"Mm?" I mumbled sleepily as I was close to drifting off.
"Did you think about moving back in?" He asked nervously as he twitched underneath me.
"I have a little, yeah."
"And? What did you come up with?"
"I will." I said with no hesitation.
"Really?" He asked shocked, probably thinking I was going to say no.
"Yes, of course." I giggled a little. Even though I was going to say yes anyway after tonight he was going to need me around more than ever and I wanted to be there for him as much as possible.
"You don't know how happy you've made me!" He chuckled.
"I couldn't say no to you, I miss how things were."
"Me too baby but we'll make new memories now."
"I can't wait."
"Me either."
I smiled as my eyes slowly shut and I felt my body drifting off into a sleep. I mumbled some kind of goodnight to Aston before I fell asleep completely.
A little bit of a gap filler, a short part.
