Vergil screamed in pain. I yanked the seat belt from the clasp and pushed the door open. I grabbed the Yamato, striding to Vergil. I slid the heavy blade from the sheathe, grabbing the old man's attention. He moved his concentration from Vergil for a split second, and that was enough for Vergil to fight back. He shoved upwards, catching the old man by surprise. Vergil ran to me, grabbing me and enveloped me in a hug. I felt a sense of vertigo, dizziness washing over me. When he released me, we were standing in his house.
"What the? How-"
"I can't believe I just did that! I finally traced two people!" he shared a victory pump of his fist.
"You can... teleport?"
"Yes. Though I call it tracing."
"Who- How?"
"That, my friend, was Mundus. And he still recognizes me. I am afraid you are in danger now. He knows your face. He knows I am harboring you."
I stared at the ground in shock. Did I have a chance? Would I die? I was not in the mood for dying. Well, no one was. Vergil placed his hand on my shoulder reassuringly, "You're gonna be fine. I promise. I will not let anyone touch you."
I looked up into his eyes. They were forgiving and sincere, eyes that told the truth. Beautiful blue eyes. I smiled. I believe him. If anyone can do it, he could.
"Damn it! That's two times in a row I've tried to get groceries and failed! IGA is cursed!"
"We can always go back. It's not like it's the end of the world."
"Yes it is!"
His smirk appeared again, "I'll go back later and retrieve your truck."

I sat calmly next to Vergil. Buttons sat on my lap, snoring gently. Vergil was dozing with his feet propped up on the coffee table, chest rising and falling gently.
His sleep was contagious. His arms were crossed over his chest, and he was in a long sleeved shirt. My eyelids began to droop, and I felt exhausted.
Sliding Buttons over so I could curl up, I closed my eyes and relaxed. I dozed off in a matter of minutes.

I woke with my head on a pillow. A hard pillow. I inhaled deeply and stretched as far as the couch would allow. The sides of my feet pressed against the arm rest, and I readjusted my head. And my pillow moved.
Slowly, I looked up. I was laying with my head on Vergil's leg, and he was reading contently as if he didn't care that I was laying like that.
I strained to see what he was reading. It was a green book, but its title remained hidden.
"What are you reading?" I asked as I sat up.
"The instructions on how I am going to sacrifice your soul to Satan."
I shot him a look of fear. He would do it too...
He smiled that dazzling smile, "I'm just kidding. I wouldn't do that. "
I smiled, "When did I lay like that?"
"You did about ten minutes ago. I didn't want to wake you. "
"And you weren't creeped out by it?"
He shrugged, "Was I supposed to be?"
"Well-"
The door opened and Dante walked in. He was covered in blood.
"What happened to you?" Vergil asked, standing.
"I ran into Mundus. He just annihilated half the human race in a single outburst! I fought him... but he's still immortal. And he took Kat! I think he went back to Silver Saks Tower. And he..."
"He what?"
Dante pointed at me, "He's coming for her."
