Vergil raced up the stars without a sound. Dante and I were hot on his tail, and we burst through the door to Dante and Jasmine's room. She was on the floor, grasping her stomach in pure agony.
Vergil dropped to his knees next to her, prying her hands from her mid-section. She was in pain, and Vergil acknowledged that, but he needed to get her back on the bed to help her.
She fought him, probably confused. Dante knelt next to Vergil, helping him.
"Jasmine, relax! Vergil's trying to help you."
She calmed down, and Vergil was able to get her back on the bed. He checked to see if she had split any of the stitches he had placed when he had brought her up the stairs. She split one of them.
"There's the source of the pain," Vergil murmured.
He grabbed a medical kit from under the bed (He had one under every bed) and pulled out the stitching thread. He re-stitched the wound, making her bleed more.
I gasped at the strong scent of blood, covering my mouth. Vergil glanced back at me, confusion written on his features. I had to trace from the room, appearing in the kitchen. I leaned against the fridge as I tried to gain control over my thirst.
Once I had a hold of myself once again, I tensed to trace up by Vergil and Dante. But Vergil came down the stairs before I disappeared.
"Dante's staying up to keep an eye on Jasmine. You and I have to swing past the new Order building. I have to check the servers. Are you okay?"
I nodded, following him out the door. We got into his car, and shut the doors. He drove out onto the back road, pulling into the city.
"So... were is it?"
"On the other side of the city."
I nodded, settling in for the ride.
* * *
"Well, here we are."
I stepped out in front of an old, abandoned-looking building. It was old, but still usable. The windows were boarded up, except for a few.
"Let's hope this one has better camouflage."
I nodded at him as we made our way to the door. A loud snarl from our right made us stop.
My jaw dropped at the sight. A large.... Dog/wolf/human thing stood there on it's hind legs. It was all black, and its claws were as long as my fingers. It raced towards me, and I dove.
There was a cry of pain, and a thump. I rolled, gasping as the thing tore into Vergil like a chew toy. Blood flew, and it shook him like a dog shakes a toy. Vergil fought back, beating on it with his fists. It didn't even faze the thing.
I dug into my pocket, pulling out my knife. I threw it with all my might, watching as it embedded itself into the thing's neck. It yelped as its blood escaped from it, raining down on unmoving Vergil.
It began stalking weakly towards me on all fours. It seemed to shrink, paling until it resembled a human.
It was a man, and unfortunately he was completely naked. But I gasped as I saw who it was.
It was Gavin.
He coughed blood, pulling the knife from his neck and tossed it away. He looked up at me, "You're supposed... to... be... dead..."
He died right there.
I raced over to Vergil. Blood covered him, and his arm was tore to shreds. He was groaning in pain, holding his injured arm delicately.
