Dante shoved Kat away from him. She stumbled, barely catching herself.
"You lied to me? You betrayed us? What the hell, Kat? We did everything for you!"
Vergil started towards her, "I saved you from your demons, taught you how to survive them. I gave you a place and a reason to live. I gave you my soul just to keep you alive, and this is how you repay me?"
Kat stood straight, chin raised, "I did what I had to do. I am Mundus's secretary and assassin. I am his number one person."
I growled, feeling my fangs extend, "You lying son of a-"
Vergil's arm shot out, stopping me in my tracks. I strained against his Nephilim strength, trying my hardest to get at the traitorous whore.
"Kat," Vergil said, jaw muscles clenched, "Why would you do this? What caused you to make this decision?"
She smiled and shrugged, "I saw more potential in Mundus than I did in you guys. Sorry, but you guys are pretty dull compared to him."
Vergil took another step towards her, "The Nephilim were created to kill the Demon King!!"
"And it is sad that I saw more potential in Mundus."
Abruptly, she reached around behind her, pulling out a shining silver pistol. She aimed it at Vergil's chest, pulling the trigger. Vergil dove, and I was left standing there. The bullet clipped me in the left leg.
I cried out, more of surprise than pain. I fell, catching myself and standing again. I raced towards her in a blinding rage, dodging bullets.
She aimed directly at my head, and I froze, my hands in the air. She sneered, and glanced over at Vergil. He was crouched with a defeated look on his face. Dante was on a knee, staring up at her. We were frozen, and she had us beat.
Or so she thought.
I blew a breath at the barrel, listening to how it echoed around, returning to me. The gun was empty, and she had no more bullets.
I smiled, stepping towards her again. I watched as she pulled the trigger, and the gun clicked. It didn't fire. She pulled the trigger again and again, and finally I backed her into a wall. I slapped the gun from her grasp, hearing a loud snap. I was amazed to see I had snapped her wrist. She screamed.
I narrowed my eyes at her, balling my fists. Vergil stepped up, placing an arm on my shoulders, pulling me back. He moved his body between us, pushing me behind him.
"Kat. Get the fuck out of my house. NEVER come back. If I ever see your filthy, traitorous face again, you will experience the God side of me."
Cradling her broken hand, she slipped around us, disappearing through the door. Vergil watched her through the kitchen window as she got in her car and left.
Vergil turned to me, glancing down at my leg, "Are you alright?"
I nodded, "It doesn't even hurt."
He crouched, lifting my pant leg to expose my calf, "Yeah. It already healed. You are good to go."
I smiled at him, and glanced at Dante. He sat with his back against the refrigerator door, arms resting on his knees. I felt bad for him.
"WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED?! WHAT WERE THOSE GUNSHOTS?!" Jasmine screamed from the door way. She had just gotten out of the shower, and her hair was wet. She wore a black and red tank top and blue jeans.
"Kat was a traitor," I said.
Jasmine acted as if she was going to say something, but her gaze flitted to Dante. I looked back over at him. Vergil was crouched in front of him, and they were murmuring something. Vergil nodded, standing. He wrapped an arm around me, leading me from the room. As he passed Jasmine, he leaned over and whispered in her ear,
