Dante's jaw dropped, Jasmine froze, and Vergil chuckled. We all turned to him, quizzical looks on our faces. He shook his head, a knowing look written upon his face.

"What?" I asked, annoyed.

"I knew this would happen. I predicted Kat would get pregnant with his child, only because she has always taken a liking towards him. He was always her top priority, it seemed."

"So," Jasmine started, holding up a hand the make a point, "You're saying that you knew Kat would get prego with Mundus's child?"

"I just said that, yes. Though I prefer to use the actual term, and not the brand of a spaghetti sauce."

Jasmine scoffed, "Well, if the shoe fits..."

Dante shook his head, "That little slut."

"Tell me about it." Vergil growled from behind me.

Dante sneered, "Didn't you sleep with her, Vergil?"

Vergil glanced up at Dante, "Didn't you?"

Dante chuckled, "Well played, brother. Well played."

I jumped as a sharp pain rushed through me, "Ouch!"

There was a clink, and I felt the rag staunch the bleeding. This was getting on my nerves.... literally.

"Almost done Vergil?"

"Close. You still have tons of glass in your back, and you will have to hunt afterwards."

I slumped, "Wonderful."

About half an hour later, the last of my wounds healed. Vergil stood, removing the bloody gloves, and placing the tweezers (Now clean) back in his medical bag.

I stood, stretching my back. Vergil tossed something to Dante, and I realized it was the bottle of peroxide. Dante dropped it, hissing like a cat.

"I fucking hate that stuff, Vergil."

"Shut up and put it away for me."

Dante obliged, taking Jasmine with him. Vergil tilted his head slightly to the side, "Any pain or anything?"

I shook my head, "Just a little stiffness."

"Well, you won't have to worry about that for long. You will be going hunting with Kyle."

"Oh no! I am NOT going hunting with that traitor!"

"Cassi, he saved us. I would be dead without him."

"I don't care, Vergil. I still don't trust him. I will hunt alone."

He shook his head, "Fine. Call me if you need anything. And let me know when you leave, please."

"I will. I promise. I vow to the-."

Vergil slapped a hand across my mouth, "No! Don't vow! These vows bind you as they do in Lothaire."

I furrowed my brow, pulling his hand away, "Really? I'll die if I break the vows?"

"Not die, but it is physically impossible to break them."

I soaked up the information. The vows will bind me like they do in Lothaire.

"Hey, just let me know, okay?"

I smiled to let him know that I would. He patted my shoulder, exiting the kitchen. I slumped in the chair again, rubbing my eyes. It was late; my watch read 8:50. I hoped humans would still be up at this hour.
