Josiah Davis
"Come on Josiah, you can't act like that." Imani whined. I looked at her confused.
"Why can't I? You told me when we were getting to know each other that you were a virgin." I spat. She sighed.
"Man, maybe because I really like you and-
"Cut it. I gotta go to practice. Look I ain't mad that you had sex okay, but why you lying about it. Plus that nigga was right in ya face. Ain't have to embarrass bro like that." I said about to walk away she grabbed my arm.
"I'd never do that you you though. I really, really like you." She confessed. I nodded.
"Thanks ma." I said shaking her hand off of me and walked right out into the dorm's hall. I was walking when I saw Wonder just chilling on the floor. I walked over to him.
"You a set up ass nigga." I said he looked puzzled.
"Imani, she's damn near insane and she lie out the ass for no reason." I confessed.
"She's not that bad."
"She lied to me about being a virgin, but confessed it all yesterday when we was all chilling."
"Well at least she confessed it." He tried to defend
"It wasn't no type of confession, shawty was tryna throw shade but we all was underneath that shit." I said. Making Wonder laugh. I sighed.
"I'm about to go go to the mess hall." I told him he nodded. I clapped him up and went on my way. As I was walking I felt my phone buzzing. I ignored it. I walked over to the mess hall and into some kind of sorority and fraternity show. I walked through their performance pissing them off but I didn't care. I saw Trinity sitting at our regular table reading and eating apple slices. I pulled the chair out across from her so that I could sit, she looked up and smiled making me smile back. My phone began buzzing again this time I answered it without look at the caller I.D
"Yo." I answered.
"Josiah that's not the way you answer a phone." I heard Claudia's voice instantly I became annoyed.
"It better be important Claudia. I got a class to get to." I lied. She took a deep breath. Trinity shook her head, in disappointment.
"It's about your aunt Ann." I completely froze.
"What happened to her?" I heard my voice start to crack. Trinity looked up staring at me, with a worried expression.
"She's in a coma."
I felt as my knees went weak, I sank into the chair. My vision began to get blurry. But I wasn't just gonna cry out in the open with all these people around.
"Wh-Wha-What happened?" I stuttered, trying to hold back my tears. Trinity reached for my hand and gave it a good squeeze.
"She had a brain aneurysm." Claudia said. I stood up, this felt like deja vu. My mother was in a coma too, and Claudia had to break the news to us. My Auntie Ann was the only piece of my mother that I had left. She can't be leaving me. I fought the tears back. I was about to walk out. But Trinity, grabbed her stuff and held my hand. I guess when Claudia realized that I wasn't going to say much to her she hung up. I thought it was inconsiderate of her for not even caring to console me. Which made me want to cry more. This was a moment where I could my Aunt and have her make me laugh.
"Josiah, whatever's making you hurt, I'm here for you okay?" She spoke. I looked down at her and nodded. I tried to pull my hand away. But she held on tighter. I didn't like to cry in front of anyone but it was like Trinity gave me comfort.
"Come on, you need to talk about this before you break." We walked to her dorm. I was shocked to see Alina wasn't in there. Trinn sat on the couch and patted the spot next to her.
"What's going on?" She asked. I sank into the plush seat. I started to chew on my inner cheek trying to find a way to tell her without bawling my eyes out. So I decided to just go and spill everything.
"Auntie Ann's in a coma." I heard as my voice cracked. Trinity's face went from the cutest to saddest. They only met once but the both of them knew about other.
"Oh my God." Trinity grabbed me and pulled me into her arms, my head resting comfortably on her breasts. And in that moment I broke.
"She's the only piece of my mama I got!" I vented. Trinity just held me tighter. I wrapped my arms around her waist. I felt her chest heave and heard her mumbling. I looked up and saw her praying.
"Amen." We said simultaneously, causing her to look down at me. She had tears rolling down her cheeks.
"Baby, why you crying?" I asked her. She looked down.
"I don't like when your not happy." She admitted. I looked her deep in the eyes and she was being sincere. I licked my lips and I saw that this staring contest we had going on was tempting her to kiss me. I pulled off of her chest. I must've come at a weak point, so I won't take advantage of this.
"Thanks Trinity, I really needed this." I said kissing her forehead.
"Are you going to go see her anytime soon?" She asked. I nodded.
"Can I tag along with you ?" She asked.
"Of course." I said genuinely. I grabbed my bag. And stood up off of the couch. I turned around to giver a hug goodbye. She hugged me and kissed my forehead, making me slightly smile.
"Anytime you need me, I'm here for you."
"Thanks, Chocolate drop." I smiled her eyes widened in embarrassment.
"I hated that name when we were together." She admitted. I nodded smiling, was it bad that I was slowly forgetting about my stress. It was like her company was a drug. Her smile was bright and contagious.
Right now we were watching some videos on our phones. I was sitting up on the sofa and Trinn laying with her feet on my lap.
"How's the track team going?" I asked, as I played with her big toe she yanked her foot away.
"The hell, Josiah." She said making her face up in disgust. She doesn't like feet and doesn't really like when people touch hers.
"How's the track team?"
"Same as football team." She smiled, I made my face up.
"How so?" I asked she smiled.
"We headed to states baby!" She yelled I laughed.
"What about your 'boyfriend' Taco?" I asked making her gasp and playfully hit me.
"He's not my boyfriend. And Trace is in a little mood right now." She said correcting me, putting her phone on her stomach.
"Whatcha mean?" I asked, making her sigh.
"He believes I set him up last night." She shrugged.
"No offense Trinn that man's a dumbass." I said honestly. She just laughed.
"None take . I know." She spoke. We shared a laugh until Alina bursted through the door.
"Bad bitches. Bad bitches only!" She yelled and she bopped in. Making me laugh.
"The fuck is wrong with you?" I asked making Alina jump in fear.
"Motherfucker bitch!" Alina yelled. Trinity was laughing so damn hard she was crying.
"Yo what the fuck was that Alina?" I asked she rolled her eyes,
"Why the fuck are you here?" Alina asked. she looked from time to Trin then started smiling. She backed out and closed the door making Trinn hop off of the couch after her.
"I need to call Chastity, I told you this would happen." I heard her say making me smirk.
"Alina we were not caked up!" I heard Trinn yell.
"Not yet, babygirl." I whispered.
