Trinity Carter

"You good Carter ?" a kid from my physics lab asked. I answered with a simple nod. Deep down I felt broken. Although I kept a strong face for Josiah and Alina the thought stuck in the back of my mind. What kind of woman can't have a kid? Isn't that our whole purpose.

"I'm just asking cause class over and you're still sitting here." he said. I looked around and sure enough it was just me.

"Thanks."

"No bigs for Davis' Girl." he said making me smile. Throughout this whole situation Josiah has really been helping me through it.

Even Kim has been calling and checking up on me. I would've never thought I would've been cool with his baby mama but that's exactly what it is right now. Something deep down made me believe she had to be up to something in order to be so nice to me and be so unproblematic to Josiah.

I walked into the hallway to see Josiah standing there speaking to my professor. I walked over and Josiah smiled and kissed me softly.

"See you next class Miss Carter, Mister Davis." she said before walking away.

"What's going on ?" I asked wondering why he was speaking to her.

"She said she noticed you and I always walking together and she said that she noticed that your there physically but not mentally and she wanted to speak on it so I gave her the rundown."

"You telling people my business?" I asked feeling as my largest insecurity morph into the alternative emotion ...anger. He placed his hand on the center of my back.

"All I told her was you weren't feeling that well. Relax babe, I wouldn't do you foul like that." he said. I just nodded. I hugged him smelling his cologne. He wrapped his arm over my shoulders and we started walking towards his dorm.

I walked in and noticed Kelvin was packing his things.

"Hey Kel." I said. He looked at me and gave me a weak smile. He walked over to me and hugged me. Like a tight hug.

"Ummmm."

"You gon' be good." he said making me look over at Josiah who looked like he wanted to smack the crap out of him.

"Thanks, you are too. Just protect yourself big fella." I smiled. He laughed before giving me another hug. I pulled away and walked over to Josiah's room. To see Lindo's bag on his bed.

"Is it your weekend?"

"Nah, he's been out of town with Kim mama them. I was just cleaning up and packed some of his stuff just incase Kim drop him off when they get back."

"Oh...Okay." I answered back. I walked over to his bed and sat. I felt myself getting sleepy so I curled up beside the travel bag.

"She so pretty."

I opened my eyes to see Lindo sitting next to my head. He had his hand in my hair. I smiled and I saw as his face beamed with joy.

"Trinityty!" he screamed, I guess just now recognizing me. He's grown so much it's crazy.

"Hey pops." I smiled at him as I sat up. he jumped into my arms and I felt the purest love radiate from his little body.

"How are you, where did you go with your grandma?" I asked, knowing that Josiah told me that Kim's mom is a travel agent so she travels all over the place frequently.

"I went to courthouse." he smiled.

"Huh?" I asked as the bedroom door opened.

"She took him to change his name and give me full parental rights." Josiah said as he walked in with a box of organic apple juice and a small bag of hot cheetos.
