TRINITY CARTER
"So Alina is your cousin?" Tre asked. I nodded and he did the same. He was really fascinated by Alina. It was like she was all he could think about. It was cute but at the same time very weird.
"Let's get into these drills." I said as I pointed to the little course thing Josiah set up. He nodded and started doing them. He did them but his problem was, that he was doing them way too slow. Taking his sweet time. This was in no way the same way he ran. He ran almost as fast as me. But his drill was slow. I decided to do them to see if they were that complicated but it wasn't.
"Hey, Tre why are you doing them so slow. Run them." I said he nodded, but the look on his face shown that we was unsure. He looked down at his leg and flexed it.
"You scared?" I asked and he shook his head quickly. And I knew he was lying.
"Yes, you are what's the issue? You broke it or something?" I asked and he shook his head.
"Nah, I tore my ACL back when I was in High School. I got a full ride to Tucker University but things happened. They didn't want someone that couldn't be who he was on the film so they cut me off the team. But they kept my academic scholarships. So I took them and transferred here." he went on.
"You need to consult with the athletic training department." I said. He nodded.
"Yeah, I know it's just last time I spoke to one of them they told me I tore my shit. I don't want to hear that shit again. I just want to play ball." he said sounding really sad. I heard all the emotion in his voice.
"Well, I sprained my ankle at a track meet so I sort of get where you're coming from. It may not be a career ending injury like yours but you aren't in the NFL yet, you have so much time to change that." I said. I walked over to my gym bag and took out my phone and texted the best Student Rehab Trainer that I knew. I put my phone down and looked over to see Josiah walking out in grey sweatpants and a black polo t shirt.
"Wasshappenen?" he said acting all silly. I laughed and he hugged me.
"Nothing, just running." Tre said. It was then I saw Alina pull up in her golf cart. I smiled.
"What happened?" she asked as she dashed over to me with her small kit on her side. She pushed me to sit on the bench where my bag was and lifted my leg.
"What's wrong does it hurt ?"
"No, nothing hurts. I am not the reason I texted." I said. She looked over at Josiah and he looked all confused. She saw Tre and she dropped my foot.
"I'm leaving."
"No, girl wait. He's actually someone that needs you to help him." I said she looked him up and down and did it again. She finds him attractive. Right off the bat. I could tell. I wanted to smile so bad but she looked over at me and I couldn't make this seem as if it was some sort of set up.
"What's wrong?" she asked him and he stood there just looking at her. She rolled her eyes. I nudged him.
"My ACL I tore it." He said, her eyes widened and so did Josiah's.
"He tore it a while ago. He had surgery on it but he's still not confident in it. Can you help him?" I interjected. He looked over at me and nodded.
"Yeah, how long have you been recovering from surgery?" she asked.
"Like two and a half months."
"Have you been attending rehab?" she asked.
"Couldn't afford that." he said and I saw the look in her face. She wanted to help him.
