Josiah "JD" Davis

As soon as the banner fell, I walked up to the door frame, to just admire her with the huge bouquet of orange and white roses in my hands. She was frozen until she looked over at Alina, who had a big ass smile on her face.

"I-I-I...what?" she asked Alina, noticing her mom and Chastity and some of our friends and family. It was as if she froze. Instantly I regretted having everyone in the room, she doesn't like attention. You could hear her heartbeat from the door frame.

"Behind you baby." her mom pointed over to me. She spun around so fast, and I saw the tears falling from her eyes. That alone made me want to shit my pants. These could be tears of joy or she's about to panic. I walked up to her and got down on my knee. This made her close her eyes, and exhale.

"I know this is not your favorite moment. But no matter how many people are in the room I have learned that the only person I look for or even see is you." I said and she opened her eyes. And another tear fell from her right eye. She looked up and then back at me.

"You've been so damn good to me. Even showing me that you love me more than I could ever know...You know they say that every woman looks for their father in a man and everyman searches for someone like their mom-"

"OOOKAY LET'S NOT MAKE IT WEIRD!" Chastity yelled earning a glare from her mom and a high five from Alina.

"Chas shut up." Trinity laughed.

"You don't know but because of you I have tried to patch things up with my own dad, and learned about the type of woman my mother was. And learning about her more, confirmed to me that she would've loved you." I said crying, thinking over the shit I really put her through.

"And all the shit I put you through, I don't expect you to just say yes right away, cause I did way more that you didn't deserve. I know your father would whoop the shit out of me."

"You would deserve all of it though." She smiled.

"Yes, and to know that I put you through that. I can never forgive myself for my past. But I would like to make your future nothing but perfect. I want to spend every single day with you. Waking up to your beautiful drool-covered face every day." I said smiling.

"I know it's too early for us to be trying to take things slow to hey marry me? But I love you, and I would like to prove to you that I am changing for the better to deserve you for the very first time in our track record."

She looked at me with the most forgiving eyes, tears desperately wanting to fall from both of our eyes.

"Trinity Oshin Carter, will you marry me one day......Please?" I asked, with tears falling out my eyes. She smiled so big.

"It makes me very happy that you said one day, I'm not ready for marriage right now. But I do love you so much-" she spoke making me nervous with each word that wasn't yes.

"Well is that a yes or no ?" Chast said impatiently.

"Oh sorry, wasn't it obviously a yes." Trinity laughed. I exhaled the breath I didn't realize I was holding. Alina took the flowers from me and Trinn's mom and my dad walked over to me.

"Here you go son." my dad said handing me the ring I bought with my very first NFL check and another box. Trinn's eyes opened so wide when she saw it. Miss Aasha opened the box holding a necklace and a wedding band.

"This band is Trinity's father's, at our wedding he made the vows you two will soon make. No marriage is perfect but I will say he kept every single promise that was made that day. And I expect you to do the same." Trinn's mom said.
