Josiah Davis
"Mr. Davis!"
"Oh call me Josiah, Mr. Davis is my father." I smiled. I was tired of kissing these old man asses.I was really feeling like a damn monkey preparing myself to perform for these damn people. I looked over at my Coach and he looked like this was the best day of his life. This was my fourth time meeting with and NFL team. I was getting tired. I found a way to get the okay from my advisor to work on multiple credits at one time. And make a way to graduate early. I was on track. But This was the only thing holding me back.
"SET GO!" he yelled breaking me from my thoughts I closed my eyes and the image of Trinn holding Lindon motivated me. I ran as hard as my legs would let me. I spun around and caught the ball. The catch was damn near perfect. All it was missing was Trinn and the stadium lights.
"OH SHIT!"
"That's what you're looking for?" my coach smirked.
"Hell yes, what your name again young man?" The recruitment coach asked me with his arm stuck out. I smiled. As jogged a small distance before throwing the ball back to the new QB (quarterback) we just recruited.
"Josiah Davis." I said jogging back over to him. He looked at me as if I was a work of art or some shit.
"We need you, I know for a fact once I pass this over to the head coach he'll want you on a plane to Alabama." he said. I made my face up in confusion then masked it with shock. Ya boy could be actor low key.
"Alabama?"
"Yessir, Alabama Bucks! We want you, no no no from the looks for our season son we need you we have to have you." he went on. I looked at my coach and felt like I wanted to laugh right in this mans damn face.
"Jackson, give Davis and I...a little moment so he can get out there and do that shit again."
"Alabama Bucks? Coach if I wanted to play for fun I would stay in school."
"I know, I know their season was a little rough."
"Rough, Coach that ain't the word. The fucking suck." I said looking at him crazy.
"Josiah they are ready to draft you right now and you're worried about their stats. Priorities seem to be out of whack again."
"Nah, my priorities are in line. I gotta be on a team that at least has a future. The only championship game they've ever had is the one they hosted in their stadium."
"Well Davis hold the team on your back." Coach said trying to convince me.
"Hell no, that's the QB's job not mine." I said.
"Who scores the touchdowns?" he challenged making me smack my lips.
"I don't why you think I am this desperate. Cause I promise you that I'm not this desperate."
"Josiah think of it. This is the only team looking to pay you by your imaginary deadline. You pass up this offer it's your ass. I am trying to help you find a good team to build on but you aren't making it easy at all."
"Because maybe, I don't want the easy way in. I want to be on a team that is capable of working together." I said. My coach just nodded.
"Josiah, I'm not your manager or your assistant. I tried to help you but now i think you need to do all this alone." he said before turning away from me and walking over to the other coach. I just grabbed my shit and walked off the field. I headed over the the track. I looked over and saw that it was just Trinity, Alina and Lindon. Alina was sitting in the floor with Lindon in her lap and Trinn was stretching.
