Flames Pond and the Princess 4: Flames Pond Never Dies

Hit and Run

Adam's POV
I was growing very impatient. "Come on Clyde!" I say. "I know you're here!"

I head up the stairs. There was no one there.

i then check all the other rooms. Still no luck.
I was about to give up when I hear the sound of screeching tires. I head out the door to my left just in time to see a white van speed on down the road.

I look around to see a navy-blue motorcycle parked near the door. You'd think that the driver of their vehicle would take the keys with them. Well this one didn't. Getting on it, I chase after the van.

Immediately, I knew that this was Clyde. It had to be Clyde. If it wasn't, then I don't know what I would do.

I get Christian and the others on the comlink.
"Guys!" I say. "I'm in hot pursuit on highway 69. Look for a white van but be careful. He has Lucy with him and I don't know if he's armed or not."

"Alright." Matt says. "We'll be there as soon as possible."

I hang up and rev the engine.
Hold on Lucy. I thought. Just a little bit longer.

Lucy's POV
My hands were tied to the back of Clyde's guard's seat. I struggled to get them both free. "You're insane!"

"I'll take that as a compliment." Clyde says as he pointed a gun at me. "Now shut up or I'll have my guard make you shut up!"

I obey his command. Just then I see someone in the small rearview mirror. It was Adam!

Unfortunately, Clyde must've seen him too. "Great! Just what we need. Sorry you'll have to see this sweets. Sir, keep her quiet!"
He got a gun out from the small compartment storage and rolled down the window. I watched in horror as Clyde shot at Flames, bullet after bullet.

Luckily, Adam dodged them. Clyde tried to pull the trigger again. But he was out of bullets.

"Grr!! Stupid pistol!" Clyde said. He went to get more ammo.

In the meantime, I had my own strategy in mind. I kick Clyde and the guard turns around.

Clyde aims the gun at me but I grabbed the gun and pointed it in other directions. One bullet hit his own guard in the head. Soon the guard lay dead. However his foot was still on the gas pedal and we were going at a insanely fast speed.

Clyde grabs my neck and starts choking me. But the van makes a huge jerk to the left and Clyde lets go of me. He hits his head and completely blacks out.

I tried to free my hands. However I was running out of time. Ahead of me, approaching very fast, was a dead end. I do everything I could think of to get my hands free. But nothing was working. And soon I feel as though I'm falling. Then I hit water.

Adam's POV
I watched in horror as the van falls off the edge. "LUCY!"

I look behind me to see Matt and the others.
Lily comes running out of the vehicle. "Dad!" she shouts. "Where's mom?"

I didn't answer. "I- I have to-"

"Dad?"

I jump off the end.

"DAD!!"

Once I hit water, I look frantically for the van. It was still sinking. Lucy couldn't get out. She was screaming for help.

I start swimming towards her. She sees me and I open the door, unfree her, and we both swim up.
