Flames Pond and the Princess 4: Flames Pond Never Dies

Just a Figment of Imagination?

Flames's POV
Lucy stood still. Absolutely still. And speechless. Just as I expected.

"But- But there is no way- No way that you're Flames Pond! He died while saving thousands of kids from those suits!"

"That may be. But don't you remember the saying?"

"What saying?"

I groaned. "Ughhh! You are so not in it. Flames Pond never dies! And to be honest, why aren't you glad to see me? It's like you're seeing a ghost."

Lucy backed up. "Maybe because I am seeing a ghost. I know what I saw. And I saw Flames die. Right there in that office. You're not him. You just can't be him! You're just a figment of my imagination. And I want you to leave!"

She started to head off. But I had other plans...

Grabbing her hand, I twirled Lucy around to face me, pulled her close, and kissed her on the lips.

Lucy's POV
I couldn't believe it. Surely I was dreaming! But I felt his hand touch my cheek ever so slightly. I heard his heart beating. This wasn't... it couldn't...

I pushed him away. "Stop! Just... stop! Stop trying to mess with my head!" I touched my lips, still shocked from the unexpected kiss.

But this guy was trying really hard to get me to believe. I then felt myself being sweeped off my feet. "Put me down!" I scream. "Someone help!"

Then I felt something sharp pierce my neck. Did he just drug me?

My vision started to blur.

Then I felt myself drift off into a sleep.

Lily's POV
I woke up and rubbed my head. "Ow!" Looking around, I found myself in a hole. There was no noise. No screams.

I climbed my way up. "Mom?" I called. No answer.

She couldn't have left me here. Maybe...

I was about to call for help when I saw a helmet on the ground a few feet from the hole. I also spotted some footprints and some car tracks leading deeper through the forest.

Hastily, I ran off in the direction of the tracks. I didn't care if I got hurt. Mom was in trouble, and I had to save her.
