Lucy's POV
"Adam!" I shout, waking up from my nightmare. However, there was no sign of him.

I rub my head.

Not so much of a dream anymore...

Just then, Lily came in.
"Mom? Are you OK? Gosh! I heard you shout all the way from across the hall!"

"Lily," I said. "I had... the most terrible dream! Oh my gosh, it was awful! Adam was there, I saw a gun, and then I blacked out. And... and..."
I covered my eyes and started to freak out.

Lily felt horrible. "Oh mom..." she said. She gave me a big hug and I started to cry. Lily knew how I felt. I remembered the times when she was young. Sometimes she was so heartbroken that she would go to her room and cry for all eternity. It took practically weeks for us to get her to calm down.

Now she's not bothered by it anymore. She's a real trooper. Just like Adam...

Lily's POV
I knew how mom felt. Although it's been a five years, she still hasn't gotten over dad's death.

I still find it hard to believe as well. But I knew that no matter what, I had to be strong.

That's what dad always told me.

I stayed with mom for quite some time.

Once she had her thoughts collected, Jake came in the room. He was a bit hesitant though.

"Um, I'm sorry. But it this a bad time?" he asked.

I shook my head and mom sniffed. "Not at all, Jake. Come in."

Jake came in. He looked kind of tired. Bags were under his eyes and he looked as if he was homeless.
"Lucy, your mother wants to see you. She's not doing well."

Mom sniffed and wiped her eyes. "Oh OK..."

Jake looked a bit worried. "Is everything alright?"

I knew mom was about to answer but I interrupted for her. "Yeah. She'll be fine. She's just... contemplating over things, if you catch my drift."

I winked.

At first Jake didn't seem to be on the same boat but after a while he nodded. "I see. OK. Shall I let the Queen know that you'll be down in a few minutes?"

Mom nodded. "Yeah..."

After that, Jake left and I turned to face my mom. "Well, looks like duty calls. Mom, if you need anything, you can always tell me."

Mom smiled and brought me in for a hug. "Thanks sweetie. But you've been a big help already. I'll be fine."

"Are you sure?"

Mom nodded. "Yes. I'm sure."

I shrugged then headed for the door. "OK. See you soon."

After giving my mom a kiss on the cheek, I left the room.
