Day 5

The sounds of the birds chirping outside called my attention to open my eyes as I lied on my bed. I couldn't remember what time Ross and I hit the sack. If I guessed it right, it was already around 4 in the morning. He was nice enough to bring some chips for the trip. Knowing that he's more well-traveled than I was, he knew what would make a conversation flowing continuously. I groaned as I tried to reach for my wrist watch on the bedside table. 11:30 in the morning. Wow! Talk about being talkative the whole time! I wondered how I stayed up so late. I couldn't even remember what the last we talked about was.

I heard some snoring coming from the floor. Ross was still asleep. I shifted in bed and had a war whether I should wake him up or not. Finally I got the courage and got out of bed and got down on the floor and gently shook him by the shoulder, careful not to make any other skin contact but before I knew it, he grabbed me by the hand and made me lie down next to him. I couldn't breathe as I realized how fast everything happened. I was lying down with him on the floor and our faces were close - we were nose to nose. I tried to move away from his grip around my shoulder but he was too strong. What am I going to do now? I'm pretty sure that my heart was beating fast now. It hasn't been like this since the last break up that I had a couple of months ago. He started to move his head and touched the tip of his nose to mine. I closed and swallowed hard. I think he felt some skin touching and his brows met at the center forming a v on his forehead. He slowly opened his eyes. I just stared at the ceiling or any other part of the cabin.

Moments later our gazes met. He was staring at me closely. I didn't know what to feel anymore. I just wished I would pass out. What could he be thinking now? I cleared my throat to kill the silence.

"Uhmm... you better let me go now...It's kinda getting too tight" I pleaded. I looked at the window that was opposite me.

"Could you give me five minutes? I've never held anyone like this before for quite a long time,' he answered. He was wearing his playful grin again. The only thing that I could give him was a blush on my cheeks and a little nod. My foot was shaking.

Five minutes later, he let me go. I stood up and went straight to the bathroom. I stood in front of the mirror and glanced at the reflection back at me. She had red cheeks - totally flushed from what just happened a few minutes ago. Okay, calm down Grace. He was just fooling around. Don't mind it. He's just a crazy dude like your brother. While calming myself down, I heard a knock on the door.

"Gracey, I'm going to my cabin to get cleaned up then I'll wait for you outside so we can have lunch already, okay?" he asked.

"Okay, I'll meet you after 15 minutes." I just hope I sounded normal.

The two of us headed towards the dining room near the cabin where we were staying. We walked in silence and I think we were both trying to forget what transpired between the two of us earlier. I had to put an end to the awkwardness since I had an interview to do. As we got to the dining area, the crew greeted us.

"Mr. Matthews, welcome to the dining room of Jenny Lake Lodges again, sir. It's been quite a long time" greeted the waiter at the entrance. He looked a little bit old, almost as old as Dad I think.
