Day 4 (Part II)

It was already almost five in the afternoon when we got to our destination. I was amazed with the environment that I was in. He stared at me with a cheeky smile and went back to his driving.

"Welcome to Grand Teton National Park, Gracey", he said as he steered the wheels of the car.

Maybe I kinda looked like an idiot trying to take everything that I saw in. I had this wide grin that I'm sure was way beyond an ear-to-ear. The view of the mountain was just amazing. The trees added to some relaxing aura as soon as you enter the park. I couldn't wait to get out of the car to explore but I knew that it would be too late for that. It was already turning to dusk.

"This is great Ross! I've never been to this kind of place. I mean just WOW! Talk about not going around your country often!" I sat back down and tried to take pictures of anything as fast as I could. Then it was then that he turned to what seemed to be a car park.

"Just stay here for a few seconds. I need to confirm with the reservation that I made for the both of us." He said as he opened his door and went out. It was kind of strange that we didn't feel tired or anything... well as for me I was so elated. I even wondered if I could put myself to sleep later. A few minutes later, Ross already came out with our keys and a huge smile on his face.

"You're in for a treat today, Gracey. It's about 5:30. Let's just put our stuff in our cabins and head to the dock. We're going to have a dinner lake cruise" he said as he started the engines of the car again and drove towards our cabins. I was excited and all I could do was nod the whole time. My mind was working double time and told myself that I needed to get ready with really great questions for the first part of the interview.

We got to our cabins in less than 10 minutes. It was a duplex type of cabin. We typically shared one wall. When I opened the door to mine, I was really surprised. I kind of felt at home. The space wasn't really that big since it was only good for one or two the most. Everything had a rustic feel from the walls, to the hard wooden floors, to the bedside tables and of course, the bed covers. The quilt was really enough to make myself warm through the cool night. I placed my luggage in front of my bed and tried to stretch. We had a long trip and not long when I sat on the couch, there was a knock on my door.

"You ready to go?" Ross asked. He was smiling at me like he always did. I had to smile back at him too - not that I didn't want to but because my face was already getting painful every time I smiled.

We rode in what seems to be a cart and was taken to the marina. A small cruise was there waiting for all those who wanted to enjoy a great dinner with whoever was with them. We got on the boat and started to look for a table for the two of us. The officer on deck greeted us with the warmest smiles.

"Table for?" the officer asked as he eyed me and Ross.

"Just two... a table for two" Ross proudly answered. I just stood there and continued to give the other man a polite smile and nod.

The officer led us to a little private table on the side. He pulled out a chair for me and then sat on his own chair. He looked pleased with himself and rested both his arms before him on the table. I, on the other hand, took pictures of the elegant yet small cruise. I was clearly enjoying every minute of the ride. Minutes later the guided tour already started. We tried to keep our heads focused on the guide as he shared about the wildlife found in the area some tales about the history of the park. We were entertained with some of the tales that he shared. After a couple of minutes, dinner started.
