Dean's POV
"Amy was an amazing person, but she has now moved on to be with God," I heard the preacher say.
My mom had passed away. She had been battling cancer for four years and it finally got the best of her. And the worst part was, I had missed a lot of her last days, with being at the Academy and all. But, Renee, Seth, and Roman tagged along with me, making this whole funeral thing easier for me.
My dad was in the Navy, and unfortunately, he couldn't make it back home for the funeral. He had gotten a letter in the mail, saying what had happened with mom, and then he called me, and it was one of our longest phone calls ever.
"And now, I would like to invite Dean, her son, up to speak."
Renee squeezed my hand and I walked up.
"I'm not good at giving speeches, but I'll try my best," I paused.
"My mom was truly a blessing to this earth. Her and I didn't agree on everything, and I've messed up in life. My mom was the one person who never judged me, for anything. She didn't turn away when I needed help most, and above all, my mom taught me the way to live my life. She never let anyone walk all over her, and she never put up with any one's crap. I know she'd be proud of me, and I know she's in a better place now, but I will forever miss her."
I walked back to my seat and Renee gave me a smile. Roman and Seth looked at me with assuring looks on their faces. The rest of the service flowed, and after it was finished we had to go to the burial site.
We all gathered around and the preacher preached again, and then we played Amazing Grace, my mom's favorite hymn, and then after that she was placed in the ground.
After the memorial service was finished, we were dismissed. I was upset, and I had to pack my bags to return to the academy. Since, this was on a weekend, and I knew Shane would've let me have an extra day off, but I can't let anyone think I'm weak.
"Dean, no one will think you're weak, you're mother just died for crying out loud!" Seth exclaimed as we got back to my house.
"I know, but I don't want to miss school."
Renee looked at me. "What's going on at school? You hate that place."
I sighed, I knew I wasn't getting out of this. "Fine, I get to fight Baron on Monday."
They all looked at me. Roman talked first. "You're going to school just to fight Baron? Dean, I don't know if that guy's worth it."
I looked at him. "You can't talk me out of it."
Renee grabbed my hand and took me upstairs. She closed the door and then sat down next to me.
"Dean, I know you don't want to hear this, but I'll tell you anyway. I don't think you should go to school. I mean, your dad did say that he'd be coming home soon, and I know you want to see him, and he'll need your support."
I looked at her. "I know, but I'm going to go to school, then come back again the following weekend."
She nodded. "I had no idea you were coming back again."
"Yeah, my family will need me back again. I also need to apologize to all of them. We all left off on some uneasy terms."
She kissed me. "I'm glad you're going to work things out."
"Yeah, me too."
Seth's POV
We were in Undertaker's class. He had been out ever since The Royal Rumble had happened and we were hoping he wouldn't return. I had gotten an F on his last test, it was on balancing equations which I didn't understand, and with my injury, I hadn't bothered to get help.
"I'm back!" He shouted through the entire classroom.
"Nobody cares Taker," Paul said from outside the door.
He stared at him and rolled his eyes. Undertaker and Paul still were mad at each other from when Brock went off script to beat the Undertaker's streak.
"Anyway, I'm excited to be back for WrestleMania!" He yelled with a thrill.
"Too bad you won't be there," Roman smirked.
He shot his glance at Roman and he pretended like he didn't say anything to make Undertaker mad.
"He is the definition of a lazy part-timer!" Dean exclaimed and pointed his finger at him.
"And you're the definition of after school detention," Taker smiled at him with the detention slip.
"Thank you, this means so much," Dean smirked at him and took the detention.
Undertaker walked over to Roman and stared him down. "Now, Mr. Reigns, you said I wouldn't be at WrestleMania, care to tell me why?"
"You think that you'll survive in the ring with any of us?"
Kevin started beating on his desk with the beat of Queen's We Will Rock You, and started a chant of 'Roman Sucks', and most of the class actually joined in.
"None of you threaten me," he scolded at Roman.
Roman pushed his chair back and stood up to meet the Undertaker. "I eliminated you in the Royal Rumble."
Undertaker smiled and walked back to his desk. "Good for you, would you like a gold star?"
Roman looked at him and he was about to say something, but before he could, Undertaker had him in position for a choke slam, which he then proceeded to throw Roman through his desk.
The door then slammed with Shane in the door. "Are you for real Undertaker? You come back and this is what you think is acceptable?"
Undertaker followed Shane out of the room and medical people escorted Roman out, and we were left there. Good thing the bell rang and we were dismissed.
My next class was health and rumor was that Demon King was returning. He had returned for a while, but then he had to leave again.
"So, I am back, and for real this time, I shouldn't be leaving any time soon."
"Wow, Demon King, haven't seen you in a long time," I told him.
John raised his hand. "I am so glad you're back and we can do normal bell ringers again."
Finn furrowed his brows. "What do you mean normal bell ringers?"
"Mr. Michaels had us write down the lyrics to his theme for a bell ringer."
Finn nodded and then we started to talk about health related things. I was tuning everything out because I was focused on WrestleMania. I really wanted to be there, for multiple reasons. I didn't want to miss my second one in a row, so I had been hitting the rehab pretty hard core. I went everyday after school to the local one and trained for about three to four hours.
After health, we ended the day with Miz. We didn't have gym today, due to Mr. Angle's absence and there being no substitute. But, it was nice to see Mr. Bálor back in school. He had been missed by all of us.
