Charlotte's POV

I've spent the last two days crying my eyes out. If you asked me a year ago if Seth and I would ever break up, I would've called you a lunatic.

But, here I am, without Seth.

The first time he cheated, I let it go, because Carmella dumped him and moved on. However, this time was different. He cheated on me again, but with someone different.

Paige.

Not only did her name trigger me, but her presence annoyed me too. We were friends at one point, but not now.

"Sasha, you were right, she really does know how to ruin someone's life," I told her as I cried.

"Char, I'm so sorry this had to happen to you," she said. "You don't deserve this."

I thanked her as she left my dorm. I really didn't know who to confide in at this point. I had faked being sick the past two days, but I planned on returning tomorrow.

I walked into school the next day, feeling refreshed and new again. I didn't need Seth, and I had to convince myself of that. The other girls supported me 100%, and I couldn't be more more thankful for them.

"Hey! You're back!" Nikki shrieked and gave me a hug.

"Yeah, I was sick, but I'm happy to be back," I plastered on a fake smile.

She smiled back and then led me to the bathroom.

"If I have to hear one more thing about you having a pity party for yourself, I'm going to become your personal entertainer," she said as she threw her hair up into a ponytail.

I sighed. "I wasn't having a pity party, look, he just really hurt me."

"And now you need to move on. Doesn't your ex-boyfriend, Austin Aries work here? I'm sure he'd help you."

"It's not that simple, Nik."

She led me out. "Sure it is, just tell him you want him back."

We walked to Math with Mr. Ryder and I just sat there, zoned out. I had been avoiding Seth the whole day, and it was working until the end of math, and he pulled me aside.

"Char, why are you avoiding me? I mean, yeah, we broke up, but come on, can't we be friends?"

I pushed his hand off my arm. "No, we can't. I have taken you back one too many times, and this was the final straw, Seth. I love you, and I thought you loved me, but no, I guess you love Paige more."

"Uh, listen-"

"No, I will not," I turned on my heel, my eyes watering. "Goodbye, Seth."

I ran down the hallway, saying that goodbye, almost almost made me choke. I barely got it out.

I went to Chemistry with The Hardyz and just listened to them lecture, not even bothering to take my notes.

"Hey, did you and Seth really break up?" Becky asked.

I looked at her. "Yes."

"You should probably take that promise ring off your finger."

It was then that I realized that the ring was still on my finger. Seth had given it to me a few months ago, and he "promised" me, that he loved me and would keep me safe through all the hard times.

That was all a lie now.

"Becky, I can't, he means too much to me."

She rolled her eyes. "And that may be, but you've got to accept the fact that he's made his choice. It may not have been the right one, but he chose."
