John's POV
Ugh, it was finally the day I had been dreading. I didn't want to go to this dance. Nikki had secretly signed us up to run for Spring Fling King and Queen. And it's not that I didn't want to win, I just wanted to wait until next year.
"John, ready to go?" Nikki asked.
I looked at her up and down. She was in a short red sequin dress. She had a full face of makeup on, and she looked really good. We were meeting Brie and her mystery date for pictures.
"Yeah," I answered and grabbed her hand in mine.
We met Brie at some place her and Nikki had talked about. It was a lake. I could see now why they wanted to take pictures here. Nikki and Brie hired a professional photographer, usually their mom took our photos, but she wasn't here.
"Brie, where's your so called date?" I asked, and Nikki nudged me on the arm.
"He'll be coming any minute, we are here early."
Around that moment, I heard a car pull up. We all turned our heads to see our secretary, Daniel Bryan step out of the car. Brie rushed to greet him, and I was confused. I looked at Nikki and she was nodding her head. If that was Brie's date, I was going to have some questions.
"So, guys, this is my date, Daniel."
Daniel smiled. "And boyfriend."
My jaw dropped and Brie laughed. "This is my mystery boyfriend I've been keeping from you."
I nodded and then we took our photos. After that, we stopped for food and then we headed to the dance.
"Tickets?" Goldberg asked me and I handed him all of our tickets.
The dance was beautiful. There were lights strung everywhere, the food tables were all decorated and looked amazing, and the DJ station was set up and ready to go.
"Isn't it beautiful?" Nikki asked.
"Not as beautiful as you."
"Wow, that was lame," AJ smirked from behind me.
I turned around. "AJ, shut up, you didn't even bring a date."
"Um, yes I did, Luke and I are here together."
I laughed as he walked away. By now, most people had arrived with their dates and the dance was heating up. The music started playing, and I noticed most of the teachers were lined up against the wall.
"Do you want some food?" I asked her, even though we just ate.
"John, we just ate, and the caterer isn't here yet."
I shrugged. "Who's the caterer?"
"Sheamus."
I nodded and went to get some water. This dance was going to be at least three hours long, if not more. I wanted to find Dean or someone to talk to, but Dean hadn't showed yet, in fact, none of the Shield was here yet.
Just then, Enzo walked over with a girl I didn't know.
"And this is John," he pointed to me and she waved.
"Yep, that's me, and I know you Enzo, but who's this with you?"
"This is Liv, she's my-" she cut him off.
"Girlfriend."
I smiled at how cute they were. "How did you two meet?"
Liv smiled. "Work."
