The Admiral's Deception

Marie walked back to the med bay, trailing behind Bones. When they arrived, she sat at her desk and pulled out the tube of blood, smiling to herself. Suddenly, the ship went to red alert.

"Bones!"

The doctor ran out from his separate office and placed a hand on Marie's arm.

"It's ok. We're at our stations, let's just stay here"

Suddenly several security guards rushed in pulling Khan with them.

"Marie!"

"Khan!"

Marie raced towards the man and fell into his arms. He held her close, wrapping his arms tight around her. He picked her up and took her over to one of the beds while Bones looked on in shock.

"Doctor, why is she afraid of the red alert?"

"Not quite sure, something inside her just freaks out. Why does she want you?"

"She loves me"

Khan sat on the bed holding Marie. The doctor opened a comms channel to the bridge.

"Captain"

"Yes doctor?"

"Why is Khan in my med bay?"

"A ship came out of orbit. If they're looking for him they'll scan the brig. He's safer there"

"Can you patch us through to the conversation you have with the ship?"

"Of course. Just keep quiet"

"Of course. Thank you"

There was a slight buzzing and suddenly there was another voice.

"Captain Kirk, I've found you at last"

"Admiral Marcus! I take it you're here to help repair the Enterprise?"

"No, why would you think that?"

"Why else would you be all the way out here? Aren't you just a concerned Admiral?"

"I'm here because I've been alerted that you have John Harrison on board. The plan was to kill him"

"Well, Khan here was telling us about the torpedoes, and we were just wondering why you did it"

"Crap. You talked to him. Listen Kirk, all out war with the Klingons is coming. I unfroze Khan because I thought he could help us. I wanted to be the one to lead civilization through the battle! Who else could? You? No!"

"Admiral! This is crazy!"

"Give me Khan. I will not harm the rest of your crew if you hand him over"

Marie clutched Khan's arm tightly, burying her face into his chest. Khan tried to be brave for her, but on the inside he was terrified.

"I will not hand him over. You will kill him and he deserves to stand trial"

The admiral laughed.

"I didn't want to do this, but I have to. Goodbye, Captain"

The channel closed and Marie whimpered. Bones ran out of the med bay and towards the bridge. Khan tipped Marie's head up to face him, and planted a long, slow kiss on her lips.

"Khan, I don't want to die"

"I know, Marie, I know. At least we're together"

"This is so crazy! I can't believe this happened. I'm in love with an alien"

"I'm in love with a human"

They kissed again, and suddenly the ship went down to yellow alert. They were safe, for now.
