The Darkest Dragons

CHP. 7 "New Allies"

Raine's P.O.V

We walked through the redwood forest, we were getting closer and closer to the waterfall. When it came into view Faaris said "I smell smoke." I looked at the area more closely and focused hard on the waterfall. I noticed Abelard falter in his step. He must know too. We reached the waterfall and out dragons stopped us from getting wet. I few drops splattered onto my arm and it was warm water. I slowed down and suddenly after a while Arian and Abelard slowed down and inched forward. We got to a cliff and Arian and Abelard jumped off. I jumped onto Faaris who was ready for me. By now I could smell the smoke and I knew something terrible was happening. We followed Arian and what we saw made everything stop. I think my heart skipped a few beats. Everything, the whole forest, was engulfed in fire. We could only stare. I broke my stare though when I saw something out of the corner of my eye. I saw light glint off of a figure. It was a dragon! It was trying to put out the fire. I looked closer and realized there was thousands of them. Faaris told Arians and we all flew over to the new dragons. They seemed to be made of steel, or metal. They were huge! They were carrying gigantic buckets of water and dumping it on the trees. They were effectively putting out the fire! I watched as they worked, the whole forest was just ash and smoke when they stopped. It had only taken them 30 minutes. Finally one of the steel dragon spotted us. They were about to attack us. They probably thought we did this. All at once, right before they got to us, Abelard made us disappear. The dragons came to a halt immediately, whipping around trying to find us. I opened the links of every steel dragon and even to our dragons and Abelard, I said "dragons, we know what has happened and who has done this. We only want to help, please, we will reappear. We also need help, we know that who did this is going to try to wipe out all the sky dragons as well as the rest of the forests surrounding us. We need to all band together. If we can come together we can beat the one behind all of this. As some of you may know already it is Stryker. He is trying to find dragons and breed them into Darkness dragons. We must not let this go any further. Please stand with me and help us fight this!" all the dragons before me landed and bowed. I didn't know I had been pushing my royal voice through my words but I noticed I had power radiating from me. I looked around and nodded at Abelard who revealed us again to the steel and the surviving forest dragons. I nodded to each of them and they all stood. They were absolutely gigantic. They dwarfed our dragons who, in this time, had grown exponentially. I smiles and climbed back into Faaris. I motioned for the dragons to follow me and Abelard and I flew everyone through the tunnel and out the waterfall. It only took us an hour to get back to the sky palace. In total we had about 4,000 steel dragons and the new dragons who I identified as Root dragons, had come as well though there were few survivors we still had hundreds of them. I knew back at the palace there would be over 8,000 mud dragons and over 10,000 sky dragons. I think we had enough. There had been so many Darkness dragons, according to Abelard, there had been over 10,000 so I was definitely thankful for the other dragons help. I gulped at the prospect of battle. I knew this is what I've been training for but am I really ready? I sure hope I am. We landed and everyone made themselves comfortable. I smiled and found nut, she was talking to the leaders of the mud, steel, and root dragons. I walked over and they All dipped their heads respectively. I smiled and we walked towards the palace where we were going over battle plans. We talked for hours and hours and only until we had come up with perfect plan and then a backup plan in case they snuck up on us in the morning did we get released to go sleep. I was so tired Faaris literally carried me towards my bed. I vainly remember dragging my clothes off and getting into bed before I passed out.

We never suspected what would happen through the night and into the morning.

Stryker's P.O.V
(Bet you didn't see this one coming!!)

I watched as the rows and rows of black dragons lined up. I was so happy I was almost giddy. I would finally finish what my father so desperately wanted. Control. Control over every dragon. And now because of my little secret I knew I couldn't kill those two little forsaken brats. I need the girl alive, she could talk to every dragon at once. I needed her to command my dragons. I laughed and every head turned towards me. It was about 5:00 in the morning I had gathered up all of my dragons, it added up to around 15,000 dragons. I smiled  and said to everyone, "WE WILL BE LEAVING SOON, WE WILL FLY TO THE SKY PALACE AND BURN IT TO THE GROUND!!!" every dragon roared with glee. I chuckled and smiled up into the night sky "You see father? I made the spawn of darkness  itself. I will rule everything just like you!" I looked around and saw a small lady bringing me a platter of food, I smiled at her, I did care for all those who worked their arses off for me. I took the platter and she asked if I desired anything more. I dismissed her though and opened the platter to see my favorite meal. I smiled slightly and ate. I watched as the sky slowly and painfully grew lighter. In two hours I would see the fall of the guardian. It couldn't come faster.

Abelard's P.O.V

It was just becomming dawn when I heard a loud shriek. I jumped out of bed as fast as I could and got my clothes and armor on with lightning speed. I saw Raine doing the same and we waisted no time calling our dragons and racing out. We heard more and more shrieks and finally an ear piercing horn blared. It was time for battle and we were not at all ready, I guess this is what we anticipated. We knew Stryker wouldn't lead an attack head on so he would probably pull something off like this. We took extra precautions and set up extra guards and made sure everyone had a weapon a close to them. I heard Raine in my head giving orders to all the dragons. Going over the fighting maneuvers we had gone through. I smiled and made everyone disappear I watched as the darkness dragons whirled around in anger and confusion as they were slashed and bitten by invisible dragons. We would win this fight.

The battle had finally began.
