Do me a favor and play it when it gets back to Nova's part

Tyler POV

When we got to the orphanage I thought, no big deal, just a quick little stop to feed the starving children or something.

Then I saw her.

A little girl, laying in bed with her hair so wet from her sweating that it was damp against her pillow, her face an unhealthy color and she was clutching her toy for dear life.

I'm not joking when I say "for dear life".

This child looked like she was laying on her death bed. She was too young for that, much, much, much too young. How can she die? Death is for people who have lived. People who have had their chance. People who were stupid or messed up somewhere in their life. Cursed people.

People like me.

But not her, not some young, innocent little girl. Not some one who hasn't even had a chance yet. Not a little girl with bangs across her forehead and a teddy bear in her left hand.

I was about to go into the room after Nova and stand beside the girl when an arm grabbed my arm and stopped me.

"What are you doing here"

I looked at the witch that had let us in.

"I'm here with my mate."

"I know what you are, you can't do this to her. Nova is a good person."

"I know that," I looked at her again, she was talking to the girl as if they were sisters. She's so damn beautiful and so damn kind. I know very well that I can't have her, but it won't hurt to pretend for a while, will it? "I won't stay long."

"You won't stay at all. You can leave now," she looked at Nova again.

"I will, as soon as she's too preoccupied to notice."

"She won't like your sudden disappearence. She'll look for you."

"I'm a little harder to find then most 'people'."

I looked at her again, now she was healing the girl. I looked back to the witch and nodded once at her.

"Give Nova my best."

With that, I was gone from the hall in a blur.

I was about to leave the property when I bumped into a kid. A boy, maybe 13 or 14 with blond hair and grey eyes and freckles.

"Sorry, kid."

He was about to reply when a little girl pulled on my sleeve, she had ginger hair that was in 2 long braids and she was wearing a Raggedy Ann dress, the only difference between the two was that this girl had blue eyes.  She smiled widely at me, one of her front teeth waas missing.

Nova's POV

I ran outside, hoping to find out what ever it was before anything happened. Then I stopped at the beginning of the stairs.

If there was any immanent danger then I would have had a premenition, I always do, healing or not healing. So what didn't I?

I shook off the question before racing down the stairs. I almost ran right into Faye, who was standing in the doorway with her mouth wide open. I followed her gaze to the yard where Tyler was swinging the kids around while they held onto his arms. The kids were screaming and laughing. It wasn't one of pain or fear or warning, but one of joy.
