"Oh ho!" The old man said as Meilen and Link approached. "Well met, strangers. It is unusual to see another soul in these parts, let alone two." Meilen raised an eyebrow at Link, who blatantly ignored her.

"Who are you?" Link asked softly, tilting his head slightly. The old man looked surprised.

"Me? I'll spare you my life story. I'm just an old fool who has lived here, alone, for quite some time now. What brings bright-eyed youngsters like the two of you to a place like this?" He explained, standing up.

"Where are we?" Meilen asked, glancing around.

"Answering a question with a question. That is fair enough. As I cannot imagine our meeting to be a simple coincidence, I shall tell you." The old man began. Meilen raised an eyebrow.

This old man is strange., She thought, suspicion lacing her mind.

"This is the Great Plateau. According to legend, this is the birthplace of the entire kingdom of Hyrule. That temple there.... Long ago, it was the site of many sacred ceremonies. Ever since the decline of the kingdom, it has sat abandoned, in a state of decay. Yet another forgotten entity. A mere ghost of it's former self... I shall be here for some time. Let me know if I may be of service. In the meantime, help yourself to some baked apples. They lie next to the fire." The old man finished. Link nodded his thanks, and picked up two apples, tossing one to Meilen. They began to walk towards the temple, seeing nothing else to do. Link noticed an ax, and picked it up. When Meilen shot him a funny look, he shrugged. Meilen smirked, but continued walking. They only made it a few steps further before they were attacked by a Bokoblin. Meilen slashed it down without a second thought. Link shook his head, drawing his hands back to his sides.

Link... Meilen... Head for the point marked on the map of your Sheikah Slate.

Link looked at the map. True to the voice's word, there was a point on the map. It was in the northwest direction, which was the same direction the duo was headed.

"Exploration?" Meilen asked. Link confirmed her suggestion with a nod. They continued walking around, headed in the general direction of the marked point. Meilen gathered mushrooms and apples as they traveled. Meilen wished to explore the temple that the old man had mentioned, so they made their way toward it. They were only attacked once as they explored it. The small battle was finished quickly as Link chopped the Bokoblin in half with his ax. The ax appeared to be worse for wear, so Link grabbed the club the Bokoblin was holding.

"Link, give me the club." Meilen requested. She felt as though she could do something with it. Link threw her a questioning look, but handed the Boko club to the girl. She tossed it in the air, and snapped her fingers. The club disappeared with a 'poof'. Meilen looked surprised, and snapped again. The club reappeared.

"Well, now we can collect several weapons." Meilen cheered as she snapped her fingers once more. The club and all the food she had collected disappeared. Link laughed and wandered over to a chest. He opened it to reveal clothes. It was a pair of finely made Hylian trousers, with durable boots. Meilen turned around and close her eyes while Link changed. When he was done, she took his old trousers and sent them to wherever the rest of their supplies had gone. They walked away from the temple, and continued their journey to the marked point. When they arrived, Link noticed a pedestal similar to the one in the Shrine of Resurrection. He walked up to it.

Place the Sheikah Slate in the pedestal.

Link did as he was told, and the pedestal seemed to retract the slate.
