Arabella Huxtable committed suicide.
That was the latest rumor circulating around the school.
Everyone had been talking about the events that had taken place last Friday, it had been a week and Arabella hadn't been to school at all.
Everyone said she probably killed herself or got suspended.
It seemed that everyone had an opinion both good and bad.
They were all mostly bad though.
The book he picked up from the floor was still sitting in his backpack, a first edition Lolita by Vladimir Nobokov.
Maddox looked away from the empty lunch table and instead tuned into Gwen and Tamia's conversation.
"It just going to be a girls night and you're always welcomed." Gwen told Rosario who awkwardly looked over at the silent Maddox.
Rosario smiled, "Me and Maddox were going to go study after-school at the café."
Tamia shook her head and scoffed, "Typical." She said staring at Gwen who was clearly annoyed as well.
"Typical what?" Maddox loudly snapped at Tamia who looked at him as if he just made the biggest mistake of his life.
Tamia waved her finger in front of his face, "Who the fuck do you think you're talking too?"
Maddox grinned widely just to piss her off, "You're the most annoying-"
Rosario slammed the table with her open hand to stop Maddox from completing his sentence.
Everyone fell silent right away.
Both Tamia and Gwen glared at Maddox who was smirking.
"Bitch." Maddox finished saying out of nowhere.
Rosario frowned and buried her face into her hands.
"Fuck you, who the hell do you think you are?" Tamia shouted at him while Gwen shook her head, "Calls women bitches," Gwen looked over at Rosario who tan face was red, "I told you he was still a fucking rude ass small minded asshole. Like the rest of his friends."
Maddox looked at Rosario once he noticed how upset she was becoming. Inhaling deeply he looked over at Tamia who was still rambling.
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to call you a bitch." He told her and that made her stop talking, she was surprised he even apologized.
"Spend time with your friends. We can always study together some other time." He told Rosario who's face lit up at the sound of not studying.
"Really?" She asked him and he couldn't help but give her a small kiss on the nose, "Really." He replied.
He didn't want to isolate her from her friends.
Rosario, although happy, always found herself scared to lose Maddox.
They were so different, so very different.
