Hiccup*
Oh god. Oh god. Oh god.
My lungs burned as we kept running. My feet started to slow down. The pirate costume I was in didn't help me in my current situation. Good thing I started working out after high school.
The screams and car horns grew louder and louder with every minute that passed. I could now hear sirens.
" Where are we even going?!" Punze shouted panting while holding on to her side.
I searched my mind for any place that could be safe. That's when I remembered the small cabin I had in the forest a few miles away. My father and I would go there during the summer before he passed away. It had a small lake right beside it.
"The cabin. It's our best bet. "I answered.
"And our parents?..." I heard Jack ask.
My stomach dropped when I thought of those people I had practically called mom and dad. Their parents all felt so close to me.
" We can't go back Jack. You saw what that thing is capable of.. We'll die.. they'll probably figure it out.. If they make it out.. Maybe they will show up." I justified, still sprinting.
" we need to get out of these costumes!" Merida said without breath.
Punze suddenly dropped to the ground. " I can't go anymore," she said holding her bloody hands over her scratch.
Sick people started limping towards us.
Jack•
Panick started to rise in my chest. The freaks got closer and closer. I grabbed Punzie and carried her bridal style while I ran behind Hicc and Mer.
" We need to stay somewhere safe to rest for a while. They're catching up and Punzie isn't in the best condition." I said.
" Yeah, Give me a minute," Hiccup said," there's a small store around the corner. Hopefully it's open and we can take refuge."
" And if it isn't?"
" Then we better run a little faster and make it out of town."
My mind was all over the place, thinking about all the possibilities and every outcome.
When we turned the corner, I saw the store Hicc mentioned and started to run with the last bit of energy I had. My lungs we're screaming for air. I set Rapunzel down on her feet then pushed at the door then pulled then pushed again, but nothing happened. It was locked.
Merida ~
"Move." I ordered as I shoved Jack. I tried the door again. This dumb butt probably didn't know how to open a door.
Oh.. The door's locked.
"Ya done?" Jack asked me in a sarcastic tone.
" shut up,"I answered. I pulled out a Bobby pin and handed it to Jack,"here do your magic."
Hicc smirked at me and shook his head slightly. Good thing Jack had a little .. "experience " with the cops.
More and more sick started to pile up around us.
" Hurry!" Hicc shouted.
"Shut up and give me time bro" Jack snapped.
Just like that I heard a tiny little click over the sound of the sick and Jack pulled the door open.
"There you go princess."
I pulled Punzel in and the boys followed. As soon as we were inside I felt myself relax as I locked the door behind us. Hiccup was right the store was small but it had what we needed. Food and water. There was also a small rack that had cheap clothes. Screw it. It worked right? Better than some Mad Hatter suit. I went over to the rack and tried to find my size in clothes.
" Hey curly now isn't the time for shopping." I heard Jack say behind me.
" well I'm not gonna struggle running from those things. If I'm gonna run, I'm gonna run comfortably. " I said and started looking for something more comfortable. Jeans is all they had. I was hoping to get sweats. Oh well. It'll do. Rachel walked up to the rack and started looking through it also.
I ended up getting a light blue tank top and some jeans. Luckily I had brought my black converse. I saw Rapunzel get a purple tank top and also a pair of jeans. They were lighter than mine. ( tank tops is the only thing they had really). We walked into the rest room and started changing, leaving the boys to do their buissness.
"So.. What do you think happened?... What are those things?." I asked Rapunzel as if she had all the answers.
" I really don't know.. Those things look dead. They are too..damaged to be alive.. Also don't tell the guys I didnt want to worry you guys earlier, but as we ran I saw a couple of those things eating a person. "
I tried to grasp what she had said. Where those things really dead cannibals?. One did try to get at Hicc. Oh god her cut!
" ok girl lemme see the scratch," I said.
Punzel slowly started to take off her white dress. She winced when she got to the dress at the waist. When she finally took it off, I gasped a little. The cut was deeper than I thought.
Rapunzel •
I looked down at the scratch. Oh goodness. I hadn't expected the cut to be that deep. Part of my skin was hanging off a bit. The wound already looked terrible. I knew it was going to get infected. There was also a lot more blood than I thought. The skin around the wound was turning slightly purple.
" we need to clean it." I told Merida.
She nodded and once she was dressed. We looked for the small first aid kits the stores usually have. When we walked back to the guys the were already dressed into something else. Hic was wearing a green shirt with a picture of a black wolf on it it. He wore dark blue jeans and was wearing his black vans. Jack was wearing a blue cut off shirt and his skin was now a little more peach than it had been when he was wearing his Halloween makeup (he is still really pale). He wore his white converse and his studs proudly shone on his ears and his white hair(nobody knows why he dyed it this way) still shone at the top of his head.
Pounding had began to take place on the glass on the doors and windows. There were only 3 crazies though(that's what I call those things).
" first things first," Mer spoke up," Punzel needs her scratch cleaned off. "
" Alright," Jack nodded. He walked over behind the register and brought back a white box with a red Cross and instructions," will these do Blondie?"
I smirked at him, "what do you think?"
He looked back at me and shrugged," you're the nurse here..not me,"
I smiled and took the tiny box from his hands. I took a deep breath.
"Well who would like to do the honors?"
