THE NIGHT THE DEAD STARTED WALKING

Finally "Safe"

*Jack*
I watched them sleep. I knew things were never gonna be the same way and that I needed to protect them. Since I'm the oldest, I feel like it's my responsibility to watch over them. They're family after all.. Or like family.
I watched Rapunzel as she rolled over and faced me. She was still sleeping silently. Her blond hair was slightly over her face. The moonlight softly kissed her tan skin, making her look even more beautiful.
God. What now?
I started to think about the cabin. How long will it hold us? How long will this go on?
All of the sudden Hiccup slowly sat up.
"Hey bro.." He groaned.
"Can't sleep?" I chuckled.
" I mean who could?" He asked me.
"Um.. Aperrently them," I replied will pointing at the girls.
He chuckled and shook his head.
"So what do you think about.. All of this?"
I stayed quiet for a while and thought. Not much to think about really. I learned to numb my feelings after the incident with my family.
" what's there to think? The world's gone to hell."
Hiccup just looked away and stared at the moon.
"I'm scared." He whispered.
"Yeah me too..." I said quietly. Im not sure what I would do if either one of them got bit. I mean we really don't have information about this.. Virus? I was praying and hoping that there was a cure. Out of nowhere I started to here some rustling and groans.
Oh god.
Hiccup**
When I heard the groans, I froze. The infected had caught up. I got up immediately and woke up the girls.
"Ay chill out dude!!" Monica shouted then she heard the infected and started to breath quickly panicking.
"Mm who needs to chill now?" I asked.
She looked at me and then gathered her things. Punzel was barley getting up when the infected started coming through the bushes.
"Shit!" Jack yelled. We all got our broom sticks ready and started to swing away. I was getting really grossed out. I wanted to vomit really bad but I kept on bashing in heads.
We started to get surrounded so I decided it was time to run. If they trapped us there was no way we would get out.
" Run!" I yelled and we all took off running.
*Merida
I was right behind them already out of breath because of the swinging. We really didn't kill a lot but I mean how much damage cam you do with a broom stick. We need real weapons. I know Hiccup has some in his cabin for hunting purposes.
All of the sudden I felt a hard tug on my hair. My head jerked back and I came face to face with an infected. In panick I tiger away but the stupid rotten thing wouldn't let go. The infected lunged at my throat but before it could bite me Rapunzel threw herself on it, taking me down also in the process but likely the infected let go of me.. Well more like ripped off my hair.
Rapunzel struggled to keep the infected down when more infected started to sound her and myself. I yanked the pocket knife out of my pocket and started to stab the creature continuously on the head until it stayed still. I grabbed Rapunzel and yanked her up and then started sprinting. Too many infected have caught up. Some were faster than others and I could tell they were going to watch up anytime soon.
Rapunzel*
My lungs were screaming for air and my heart was pounding very hard. I also wanted to vomit. My legs were started to drag and I felt my body slowly giving up. We started to spring up a hill. Really? Now?! I run up as fast as I could and looked behind me. They were catching up and these stupid bags weren't helping!!
All of the sudden I saw Jack jump up and reach a tree branch and pull himself up. Hiccup did the same and then Merida. I broke down on the inside. I'm short and tiny. I can't do that.
" Hurry! We got you!! " I sighed and when I got to the branch I jumped as high as I could and reached Jacks hands. They all helped Jack pull me up. I looked down and saw at least 50 infected reaching toward us.
Couldnt they jump? I decided to move to another beach so the one we were on so it wouldn't snap. Merida seemed to food and moved next to the branch next to mine and then Hic moved to the one on top of her. Jack moved to a higher branch.
"Soo... What now?" Merida asked between breaths.
" I don't know." Jack admitted" I just wanted to get away. My legs almost gave out. "
I sighed. I wanted to go home. I missed my mom and dad and bed.
I started to tear up and my vision blurred. I stared at the moon and prayed for a way out of this.

It was almost sunrise. All of us had been really quiet and it seemed that the infected had gotten bored and left. Looks like they're attracted to noise... There were only 10 left. I looked at Merida. She looked terrible. Her hair was messier than usual with dry blood and her face and clothes were smeared with blood, sweat and dirt. She had bags under her eyes and ahead looked like she was about to pass out. I probably look the same .
Jack**
We can take these out. It's risky but we can. I jumped down the opposite side of the tree and felt pain shoot up my legs . The others sat up in shock. The infected started walking towards me. I gripped a thick branch that was on the ground and swung. The branch immediately busted the head causing blood and brain to splatter on me. I started to hear Hicc swinging at them also and then the girls joined. I ran to the girls and helped them out, but they seemed to be doing fine. They just needed two more. Hiccup was trying to fight off 3. I ran to help him. I kicked in the legs of the infected causing him to trip. Then I stabbed my branch through his head. There was one more left. Hiccup swing his broom stick and knocked it down. I then bashed his head in with my shoe. I looked up and saw the 10 infected Scattered on the ground.
* Merida
I smiled on the inside but then again.. These were people once.. And we took their lives. I shrugged off the feeling.
" we should get going " Hiccup stated.
I climbed up the tree and threw down the bags.
Everyone picked up their supplies and started walking.

Finally we saw the outline of a cabin. It was hard,but we made it. As soon as we got to the door Hicc dropped his bags and pulled off his necklace with a silver key on it. He unlocked the door and we walked inside.
