THE NIGHT THE DEAD STARTED WALKING

The Text

Hiccup*
When we were done disinfecting it, I smiled. Finally it was over. Seeing Punzel hiss in pain and watch her wound bubble after putting hydrogen peroxide on it wasn't pleasant.
"Ok," she smiled looking at me. She wore a quick smile then she sighed and look back in the box," now... The stitches" she said while pulling out a small weird looking needle and thread.
My stomach turned. I didn't know how to do stitches. I guess my panick was showing because Merida smiled at me and then looked at Rapunzel."I'll do it"
I watched as Punze was laid over the floor hissing and screaming slightly everytime the needle went into her body. I would see her tearing up a bit. A wave of guilt hit me. It's my fault she got hurt. I felt a cold hand land on my shoulder. I looked back to see Jack staring at Punze with a sad expression.
Merida stood up. And helped Punze to her feet.
" Nicely done," She said smiling.
The stitches and the red wound looked out of place on her skinny tummy. There would definitely be a scar there. Punzel pulled down her shirt and gave Mer a side hug. There was a little moment of silence when we heard a small vibrating noise. It stopped.
It sounded like a phone. I walked over the cash register and looked around the area. There was a small area that looked full of junk where I suppose is the lost and found. I saw a small bright screen and pulled the phone out of the section. Mer, Punze and Jack gathered around me and stared at the screen. It was an emergency alert.

If there are any survivers, please evacuate large cities and towns. There has been a virus outbreak. We do not know much about it but we know the virus spreads through the bite. The bit victums will experience a burning fever, fatigue,thirst and coughing blood. The victim will then die and become an infected.Any death will lead to being infected. The only way to kill them off is by damaging the brain(although trying to fight them off is a bad idea) We are working on a vaccine. Military help has been sent out around the United States and some survival camps have been created around major cities.

I slowly took everything in. These things are dead. They're called infected and if they bite you, you die.
I can't believe it.
It took a while to all take it in.
" well.. We should get going. " Hicc said.
I nodded. We all agreed to at least take food and water since it might be a while until things get back in order.
There were some black bags. We each got one and started to fill them with all kinds of food and drinks. When my bag was full, it didn't seem like much so I grabbed another bag. In the end. Mer and Punzel carried two and Hic and I carried three.
" we're going to need weapons," Punze said looking at the infected by the door.
" yea we are," I said back.
"Well we don't have any," Mer said walking up to us ," what do we do about it? All I have is a pocket knife."
" Then we use what we have," Hicc said joining the conversation.
" well what can we use?"Punze asked nervously.
we all started looking. I went over to the supply closet and found nothing, but brooms and mops. Screw it. I took the brooms and mops apart. I grabbed the long sticks and handed them out.
"This will do for now..Ok.. Let's go." I ordered.
" There's a back door,"Punze said," hopefully there aren't any infected through the alley. "
We all nodded and followed her. When we got there, I held my breath. She opened the door a bit and let out a sigh of relief
"All clear"
Merida*
We sprinted as fast as we could and as quietly as we could, but no matter what, we still attracted infected. We were almost out of town. The houses were growing more and more distance between each other and the infected started fading out. All of the sudden something grabbed my foot. I felt myself falling. I rolled around quickly and saw an infected crawling up me. He was righting on top of me. I tried to hold him away but I couldn't. My arms were giving out. My panick rose and I started to kick at the infected. I saw more coming at me. Just then I saw a broom stick make contact with the infected. I threw the infected off me and rolled over. I stood up and looked at my savior. Hiccup stood still beating the dead body on the ground. I ran up to him and hugged him. I almost died.
"Guys!"
We looked to our right and saw Jack getting attacked. Rapunzel started to fight them off pretty well and soon Jack joined. They looked like star baseball players. I run up to them and took down two. They were certainly fighters though. Soon we started sprinting again and I finally started to calm down when we saw trees.
We were getting closer.
Rapunzel *
The woods looked very different from when I came with the guys a few years back. I hadn't been here in ages. We walked along silently. I could hear my heart pound against my rib cage and my throat was burning from the cold air I had breathed in. I had no idea what time it was but it was really dark.
" how long will it take? " Jack asked Hiccup.
" At least 2 days"
Great.
" can we rest?" Jack asked looking at my waist. I figured he was thinking about my wound and how I wanted to rest.
There was a moment of silence .
"Yeah" Hicc and Mer said at the same time. We walked a little further and came upon a clearing. I immediately dropped to the ground and let down my bags. Jack and Hicc smiled while Merida giggled and laid down next to me. Jack laid beside me and Hiccup sat down next to Merida. Of course. I gave Merida a little push and her face turned as red as her hair. She mouthed me to shut up then she closed her eyes.
"Ill take first watch" Jack said,"Hicc take second."
" What about Merida and I?"
"You can take watch tomarrow.
I nodded and laid down. Then I turned over and saw Jack smiling right at me. I felt a small smile come in. He pulled me into a hug and whispered "I'm glad you're ok." I smiled into his neck and layed down next to Merida, wishing I was in my bed
