Punzie* The night was long and tense. We slept in our little group and Shane's slept away from us. While Shane and Mulan kept watch from us, Meri and Jack kept watch for them. They stared at each other the whole night. I knew because I stayed up all night due to nervousness. All that was heard was the creepers outside and Hiccup's quiet snores. When daylight came, we finally got a chance to talk. "Hey.. So I was wondering.. We were wondering.. If you guys would want to become part of our group.." " Really?" Hiccup asked in disbelief. " Yeah we figured that the more people, the safer we are," Shane said while nodding. " Yeah!! We'll be like two peas in a pod!" Belle said excitedly. "I doubt it," Jack mumbled under his breath while looking at Adam and Peter. " Jack!" I scolded," believe it or not Shane has a point." Merida sighed" I agree with Shane..Rapunzel could use some help with Hiccup and we could use help with hunting and scavenging." "I vote we join," Hiccup said. "Me too." "Me number after two." Jack exhaled loudly,"fine." Peter stared Jack down and growled. "Great!" Shane said,"what are you guys good at?" ••••• After we told Shane our strengths, he broke us into groups and sent us off. Hunting: Meri Pocahontas John Mulan Stay at home and finish packing: Wendy Me Hiccup Belle Scavengers: Jack Peter Adam Shane I was a little nervous about letting Jack go with Adam and Peter due to the fact that they seemed to not get along very well. I refused to let Hiccup do anything at first,but after begging and begging I decided to let him help me make lunch for everyone when they got back, while Belle and Wendy packed whatever they thought was useful. Belle and Wendy told us that we were now headed towards a survival camp not too far away. They weren't entirely sure what the camp was called but the group was called the saviors. After they were done explaining Wendy and Belle walked up to us. " Hey Hiccup you can go rest. Wendy and I can help Rapunzel now. " Hiccup nodded and limped towards the sofa. Wendy and Belle then took a few frozen veggies that were now thawed and started to slice them as I sharpend a knife. "So what's up with that white haired dude?Jack was it? " Wendy asked. I stopped sharpening and glared at her. " What do you mean?" I asked. " Well he seems like a trouble maker. You know? Like he just wants to cause problems." " That's not true. Jack's just looking out for us. I mean Adam did knock me out cold.." "Well he seems a little aggressive to me." Belle then elbowed her. "What do you mean? Peter and Adam just ticked him off". "Well they were just watching out for us. We need to be careful with Jack. We don't want him to turn completely savage like most people." My heart began to race. " what do you mean completely? He's not Savage at all!" I started to raise my voice. " you guys need to spend more time indoors.. You know? Stay away from the walkers and other crazy people. You guys have spent too much time in the outside world." I was 1000% done with this girl. " Maybe you didn't spend enough time outside to see that this is the way things are! The world is full of dead cannibals with a virus that can spread through your body in minutes !! We cant just live like we used to! This is the infected's world now!! It's survival of the fittest!!" I exclaimed. Wendy just glaredat me then threw her knife on the table and walked away. "Ugh Wendy..." Belle whined as she walked after her. I let out a sigh, picked up her knife and started to slice the vegetable she left on the cut board.
Hiccup* I just akwardly sat on the stair case as Wendy passed by me and stomped upstairs. Belle followed her up. I decided it was safe to go in the kitchen now. When I walked in Punze was slicing veggies and fixing up on a plate. I assumed that she was either making a salad or a vegetable soup. I took a deep breath I walked towards her. "Hey... You ok?" I asked her. "I'm fine" she mumbled. I didn't know what to say to her after that. Silence filled the kitchen for about 30 seconds. "Hiccup?.." "Hm?." "What's the point?" I furrowed my eye brows at her question and looked at her. "What do you mean?" I asked. " I mean w- What is the point of this? " she said waving around and motioning to everything as she started raising her voice. I couldn't answer her question. I had been wondering the same thing for months. I just looked at her as her eyes got glassy and she looked away. "Punze.. Everything happens for a-" "What?! For a what Hiccup? A reason? Tell me what that reason is Hiccup! Because I can't seem to find it! " she turned away from me and ran to stairs. I chased after her the best I could with my peg leg. "Punzie!" I shouted but she kept running and soon she made it in a room and locked the door. I slammed against it for a while trying to get her to open it but all she told me was to go away. I sat outside her door and grabbed my journal( Meri had found it and thought I would like it). I started to draw us from last year's fall when everything was great. I went into every detail I could remember. When I was done, I slid it under the door and walked back down stairs to wait for everyone else to get back.
