THE NIGHT THE DEAD STARTED WALKING

The New Problem

Merida*
I struggled to pull away from the large man that had pushed me against the wall.
He started to trail his lips down my neck and bite me as if that were to turn me on. His large hand was pushed against my mouth, not letting me scream out.
Punze was on the floor with another large man on top of her. She sniffed as tears trailed down her face. The man was working his way down her chest. Anger boiled through me. This was one of the first times I had never been able to help her. I screamed angrily and try to kick away from the man, but it was no use.
All of sudden, 2 objects run into the room. It took a second for my eyes to adjust, but when they did I could see Hic and Jack running to our rescue. Jack ran towards Punze while Hic ran towards me. The large man pushed against me turned around quickly just in time to receive a punch from Hic. The man stumbled back. I ran up to him and kicked him on his crotch. Then Hic grabbed his large head and brought it to his knee.
His head was thrown back before he collapsed on the ground. Hic and I looked over at Jack only to see him choking the large man. I stepped back and Hic starred with wide eyes. The man stopped struggling and relaxed onto the floor. Jack let go of his throat and stood up. Punze was standing up. Her face was stained with tears.
We all looked down at the men at the ground. They were twin brothers with red short hair and a large build. The were both dressed in black. Now they we both a bit bloody. The one Hic and I hit had blood running down his nose and a busted lip. The one Jack got had a cut under his eye and his neck was starting to bruise up. We were all breathing hard.
Punzie walked up the the man that was choked and put her thumb on his wrist.
" he's alive but his pulse is faint," she said.
" Are you two ok? Did they... Do anything else before we got here?" Jack asked between gritted teeth.
"No." I stated.
" what now?" Hic asked.
" we'll tie them outside and keep them there until they wake up. Then we'll ask questions." Jack said.

We all struggled to drag the men out side. When we did we tied both of them up with rope Hic had in the cabin. We went back inside and sat down to think of what to do next. The boys kept asking us questions of what happened and kept asking if we were ok. They swore to never leave us alone again.
Rapunzel*
I quietly prepared lunch with the rabbits the boys hunted. Skinning them and gutting them wasnt as bad as I thought it was gonna be.
Cooking them over the stove, I thought of everything that could've happened if Hic and Jack wouldn't have shown up. The thoughts that went through my mind brought chills down my spine.
" hey you ok?"
I quickly turned to my right where jack stood leaning against the counter.
I smiled at him.
" I'm fine."
" I'm sorry for what happen.."
" It's alright it wasn't your fault or anything.. Plus nothing happened. I was just a little scared because I actually thought that they would rape us.. I mean I wasn't a little scared I was a lotta scared but... Yea"
A blush slowly crept up to my cheeks.
Jack chucked and looked at me.
"I'm just glad you're ok.." He said. I smiled at him and took the rabbit off the fire. I started trying to fix it up to add flavor but there really wasn't much I could use. We had nothing.
We sat around the table and eat quietly. The poor rabbit really didn't taste like anything but it filled me up and that's all I needed.

Hiccup**
After lunch, we cleaned up and let the girls pick their weapons. Merida picked up a handgun switched on the safety and stuffed it down the back of her jeans. She also got two daggers and a box of ammo. She opened the box and stuffed all the bullets in her pockets. She then stuffed one of the daggers in the side of her jeans and the other tucked in her shoe. Punze carefully looked at Merida and imitated every move. We'd have to teach her how to use it. When the girls were all set we got ready to out in order to learn how to shoot.
"Bet five crackers I can shoot better than you can Punze," Merida smirked.
" um of course you can!!" Punze giggled and shoved Merida gently.
Merida giggled too and I couldn't help but smile. At times like these I knew it would be rare where we could all laugh and have a good time.
As soon as the girls opened the door to go outside, they stopped smiling and giggling. I looked passed them to the outdoors. My heart Immidiatly started to pound against my chest and adrenaline rushed through my body.
The two men we had tied to the trees were now gutted and we're being eaten by the infected. Blood was splatted on their face and arms.
The man that Merida and I had got was split open and eaten so much that you could start to see the spine in the stomach area. His busted lip was ripped off. A look of shock was plasted in his eyes. His arm had torn tissue hanging off. The man Jack had chocked was the same except his arms and legs were almost gone and his eyes were closed. I gaged and bent over trying not to throw up. I felt incredibly guilty. Merida patted my back and I forced myself to stand up straight. Rapunzel quietly whispered an Our Father. When she was done we crept toward the infected. There were 5. We rounded off and surrounded them.
Jack charged first. He crept up to one and stabbed it with a knife right above his head. This attracted the attention of the other infected and set them creeping toward Jack. Jack got busy trying to kill another one, but another one found his way to be too close to Jack for his comfort. Right when the infected was about to grab him Punze ran up to him and kicked in the infected's legs, breaking them in the process. The infected fell to te ground and started to reach towards him again. Punze walked up to him and stabbed him right in the eye. The infected relaxed into the ground then Punze sprinted up to one near Jack and stabbed him upwards into the neck. That one fell limp too. A groan snapped me out of watching them. I looked up and saw an infected coming my way when suddenly his head jerked to the left and it dropped to the ground motion less. Merida stood over it and smiled at me. I smiled back. One started to creep up to her. Rapunzel hit it with her arm, knocking it down. Then I rushed toward it and stabbed my knife right under the chin of the infected.
" stupid creeper," Merida snarled.
" that's catchy.. Creeper," I said.
" I like it," Jack said.
" Yeah me too," Rapunzel said smiling at all of us.
I looked around. To me I felt like we were doing better at killing them off. It was scary yet exciting.
" what about them?"
I looked up to see at what Merida was pointing at. The gutted men still sat laid down under the tree.
"We have to stab the brain or else they'll come back," I replied.
We walked up to them slowly. Jack and I put the knife through their heads. I know it's a scary thought but it felt good to stab these guys. We know knew they wouldn't and couldn't hurt anyone else.

Jack**
Night came but I couldn't sleep. I tossed and turned but there was no way I could keep my eyes shut. Worry was now my best friend. We needed to cover up a bit more. Winter would come soon. The animals would hybernate and there would be nothing to eat out here. We'd have to go into towns and start scavenging. I would have to start collecting firewood in order to keep us warm and maybe start fencing off and boarding up the windows. The two men still sat tied up to the tree. We all agreed to bury them together. My thoughts wondered. I thought about my sister that had passed away 2 years ago. For the first time I was glad she was gone. I wouldn't have wanted her to experience this. Those were my thoughts before I drifted off.

I woke up to Punzie shaking me desperately. Before I could say anything, she put her hand on my mouth and held a finger up to her mouth.
God what now? She pulled me up to my knees then we both crawled out the small room and headed towards the kitchen.
" I'M ONLY GONNA ASK ONE MORE TIME BEFORE WE BLOW YOUR BRAINS OUT!!"
My heart started to pound on my rib cage.
"WHO KILLED THESE MEN?! WHO TIED THEM TO THIS TREE AND LET THE ROAMERS GET TO THEM?!? SAY WHO DID IT AND WE MIGHT LET SOME OF YOU GUYS GO FREE.!!"
It was deep male voice. He was outside and I doubt that he was alone. They would get in here and kill us for killin two of them. No doubt about that.
Merida and Hicc were crouched down under the windows. Merida was in ready position with her hand gun and Hicc had his hunting rifle.
"Careful" Hicc mouthed to us. I nodded and crawled over to another window. Punze also went to a window.
God I hope she knows how to use that gun.
" I KNOW ALL OF YOU ARE IN THERE. THERE'S NO POINT IN HIDING!!"
We stayed in silence.
"ALRIGHT... IF YOU WANT COME OUT ON YOUR OWN WILL.. WE'LL HAVE TO MAKE YOU GUYS COME OUT..."
We all looked at each other in confusion and fear. Through the corner of my eye I saw Rapunzel rise her head to look out the window. She looked out, let out a squeal and crouched back down.
" they're gonna burn it down!!!" She whisper shouted at us.
