Friend or Foe?

Hiccup*
We walked for the longest time. It's been days now since the incident with the cabin. We ended up in a small town. We have been breaking in and out of houses. So far nothing really bad has happened or been in the houses besides a few creepers and I'm very greatful for that. My feet were sore and my skin was full of goosebumps. It's getting colder everyday.
"Shh"
I look up at Jack. He crouches down beside a bush in someone's yard. We all do the same.
" what's up?" Mer asks.
" There someone over there. I don't know if it's an infected but I swore I heard it crying." He replied.
"Ok .. Maybe it's a person"
We all looked over the top of the bush.
A figure was sitting in the middle of the road. I looked like a woman. She wore a purple long sleeve with black skinny jeans and black combat boots. Her brown hair was in a high pony tail. She had blood splattered through out different parts of her body but no bites as far as I could see. She was crying and holding what looked like a baby up to her chest.
Guilt struck me.
" how about we go check on her. It looks like she needs help." I whispered.
"I don't know it's risky." Merida whispered back.
" come on I think we can handle her mer." Jack responded.
" fine but careful Punze and I got your back." She said. I nodded at her then me and Jack moved out and started our way up to her. The closer we got, the faster my heart beat.
"Ma'am do you need help?" I asked, keeping one of my hand guns out just in case. See looked up at me.
"No, but you do" she said smirking.
At that very moment I heard the cock of a gun and people suddenly came into view.
Oh great. Just what I needed.
Besides the girl that was crying there was a man with black hair up to his shoulders wearing a purple cut off shirt and tan colored skinny jeans. He was wearing purple shoes and had a gun pointed right at me. There was a lady beside him pointing the gun at jack then at me then at jack again. She was wearing a baby blue crop top, black skinny jeans, baby blue flats andbig golden earrings. Her hair was also tied back in a pony tail.
Next to her was a big muscular ginger. He wore a white muscle shirt with dark blue jeans and combat boots. He glared at us with fire in his eyes. There were two other people. There was a girl with bright red hair and blue eyes. She wore a purple tank top and turquoise skinny jeans with Sandles. She had a yellow and blue striped bag and a handgun that was pointed at Jack. The man next to her had black hair and a white t-shirt and blue jeans with black boots and a bandana tied around his head he also head a gun pointed at us. Everything seemed to happened slowly. The woman that was crying dropped her fake baby to the ground.
Oh god. I was gonna die. Thats when I reliezed I still carried three black bags filled with supplies. (well not really since we've been eating ). I mentally face palmed myself and I knew Jack was doing the same.
" drop the guns and the bags kids." the man with the white t-shirts commanded.
I stayed put . Not moving at all.

"How about you drop the guns instead."

Thank God.

*Merida
As soon as we saw the people pop out of no where punzie and I ran our way around the house so the strangers wouldn't see us. We ran as quickly as we could. As we ran I saw punze getting her gun ready. When we got to the other side we crept towards them, careful not to alert them.
" drop the guns and the bags kids."
So that's it. they're robbing us.
" how about you put the guns down instead I demanded. While pointing the gun right behind the head of a girl in a baby blue crop top to the point to where it almost touched her skull. Punze stepped up beside me and held her gun with confidence at the other girl with bright red hair.
There was a moment of silence.
" Do you really think we're scared of a couple of kids?" A man with a white muscle shirt asked. His voice quivered a little bit.
" Sure as hell sounds like it" Punze snarled.
I couldn't believe my ears. Mrs. Goodie two shoes... Being tough. She was probably tryin to look tough but still. Dang. I'm finally starting to rub off on her.
" you guys can't be much older than us anyways." Jack said.
The strangers looked at each other for a bit before the man in the white tshirt lowered his gun.
Slowly everyone did the same including us.
I switched on the safety and stuffed the gun in the back of my jeans. Punze did the same. Jack lowered his gun and Hiccup put his gun away also.
"Look we're sorry ok? We just really need supplies." The man in the white tshirt said.
Punze rolled her eyes and looked away.
I just stayed quiet and looked down.
"Hiccup.. The names hiccup."
I looked up and saw hiccup extending his hand toward the strangers. A man with a purple cut off shirt walked up to him and smiled.
"My names Aladdin, but my friends call me Al."
They shook hands.
" this is Meg"
He said pointing to the girl that was crying on the floor.
"That's Jasmine"
He pointed the girl in a blue crop top.
"Herc"
He was the man in the muscle shirt.
" Ariel "
He pointed to the girl with bright red hair
" and that's Eric "
He pointed to the guy in the white tshirt.
"That's Jack.... Punzie.. And Merida or Mer" he pointed to us as he introduced us. When he got to me I just nodded and looked down.
" so what brings you guys here huh?" Al asked.
" we had a cabin in the woods a few miles back. Some group showed up and burned it down" we've been trying to find shelter since then." I answered.
Al nodded.
"You know we have a camp a few miles south. It's just us. You're welcomed to join us if you'd like. The more people the better."
I looked at Hiccup.
There was a moment of silence.
" sure. We'll stay for a bit".
" well unfortunatly we barely fit in our car.. Do you guys not have one?" Meg asked.
Punze let out a sigh"no we don't."
"Maybe one of those will do" hiccup said pointing to a group of cars.
" pff tough luck kid we checked them all they either have no keys or the engines busted." Meg remarked. Hiccup ignored her and started toward them. Punze, Jack and I followed. Al's group just watched us leave with confused faces. When hiccup got to a car he popped open the hood. And looked around. This one looks in shape. He started to move stuff around an check different areas.
Al's group showed up behind us.
"Bro, think you can start it?" Hiccup asked Jack.
"Right ahead of you," Jack said before popping open the bottom of the wheel and messing with the wires. It took him a little while but he finally started the car.
Eric let out a whistle.
"Looks like you guys will come in handy huh ? " jasmine smirked.
*Jack.
We drove for about 30 minutes before arriving to a huge house. The new group helped us with out supplies and we put them inside. Then we sat in a circle. I sat next to Punzie and Hiccup.
"Ok guys.. Here's the deal you wanna stay? You have to work." I'm going to need some one to go off and go scavage in order to get supplies. I need one to fix one of our cars and I need someone else in the "armory" helping with weapons." Eric said.
" I can scavage." I said quickly.
"I'll fix the car" hiccup said.
" and I can work in the armory" Merida added.
"I'll go with Jack. " punze said.
"It's dangerous punze I don't want-"
" that's my point" punze interrupted Merida,"Jack could get hurt out there and if he does I could help him"
We all stayed quiet for a second.
She was right. Something could happen. I could get hurt, but what if it were the other way around? I can't let anything happen to her. Before I could say no, she gave me her world famous puppy eyes. God I hated when she did that. Those were the same eyes that begged me to climb a tree to save a kitten. I ended up falling and breaking my arm but it was worth it because she was happy (no ..well I broke my arm of course but still).
I let out a sigh"fine"
"Yayyyyy!!" She cartwheeled then threw her hands in the air.

The town was quiet. It was terrifying. Anything could happen. I was more terrified that I had Rapunzel with me.
She waited patiently as I picked the lock to a store.
" what do you think of them?" She asked suddenly.
"Of who?"
"The group we just met"
"Eh I guess they're pretty chill. Nothing exciting"
"Oh.."
"Well what about you?" I asked while opening the now unlocked door.
" I don't know they seem nice."
I heard a groan. I put my finger against my mouth telling punze to be quiet. She nodded. We crept up and looked across aisles. I found a creeper in one of the aisles. I crept toward it quietly and brought out a blade that I had picked back at the cabin. When I got close I stabbed it into the back of the creepers head. When I looked back I panicked. A creeper was headed toward punze and she didn't even know. Right when I was gonna tell her, she faced it and when it got close enough she kicked its legs in and stabbed it twice in the eye with Merida's pocket knife(she let her borrow it). I whistled. She looked up at me and smiled.
We walked through the aisles pickling up anything that would could be useful. The shelves had been picked, but not entirely. We found 3 flashlights and a pack of 4 batteries. There were also radios. There were also new clothes and shoes.
We took what we could but unfortunately they sold no food. We took what we needed. Punze selected clothes for her and fuz ball to wear and I picked something out too and also something for hiccup.
" I'll go change in the women's rest room".
"Alright I can go with you if you want"
wait !! Nope that came out wrong . I felt myself flush.
"I mean like I can wait outside and stand guard"
She giggled.
"Yeah that's ok you can go change. I can handle myself."
I nodded, but as soon as she went into the rest room I stood by the door. I didn't want anything else to happen to her.
3 minutes later she came out.
She looked bad ass.
She wore a dark purple shirt with dark blue skinny jeans black combat boots and a black leather jacket. Her hair was now in a thick french braid.
She blushed and looked down.
"I thought you were changing" she said.
" I wanted to make sure nothing happened to you. "
"Well thank you " she said still looking down.
"Well now it's my turn"
I walked into the boy rest room. Immediately I was hit with an odor that made we want to bend over and puke. There was blood splattered on the floors in one of the stalls. I pulled out my knife and walked to the stall carefully. I kicked the door open. Nothing. I walked to the next door and did the same. Nothing. I let out a sigh of relief then started undressing.
I need a shower.
I started to put on the tan skinny jeans I found. It was a little hassle to put them on but I succeeded. Then I put on a white shirt that was a little too small. Then I put on a blue hoodie that I found. I took out my ear studs and put them beside the sink. I let of a sigh. It's been days since the world went to shit. We don't know a lot, but we have no plan. All we had right now was a chance with strangers. I hope everything works out.
I stepped out from the rest room and there stood Rapunzel looking at something.
"Hey what's up?" I asked walking in to her.
"Look.." She said while pointing at a map," someone wanted to go here.... Its not far" she talked as she showed me the trial. There was a place that was circled.
"I dont know punze..... It might just be a random spot.."
"It could be but then again maybe it could be safe. You never know"
" I guess we can show Fuzz ball and Hic." I said while rubbing my neck.
" we'll just see what they say".
I nodded.
We looked around a little longer. Punzie then came across a door at the very end of an aile. She opened the door slowly and immediately her eyes widened. I peered in.
Inside was an office with a creeper and a dead woman. We stepped in to examine what had happened. The office was a mess. Blood was smeared all over. The creeper was a child, probably around 7 years of age. It was sitting in a corner growling at us but it seemed that the child could not get up. The woman was laying on the ground with a bullet wound on her head and a gun at hand.
"Poor lady."
I looked at Punzie. Her eyes were watering. " she must've not been able to kill her bitten child and not take the pain of knowing that the poor thing would have to be killed. "
I looked at the child on the ground. She was a little girl with blond hair wearing a pink dress and black shoes.
Not even kids are safe.
......
It had been two days since we had scavaged. We decided to go ahead and leave.
Merida and Hiccup had taken a look at the map a decided it was our best shot at finding something stable.
We left at the crack of dawn and headed towards this new place we were hoping to call home.
* Rapunzel*
We took the car we had hotwired when we first met the group. Sadly they didn't want to come with us so we left. A few good byes we're said and that was it. We had a crowded car with a few supplies and a few weapons. Not much to start off with but it was alright.
I started out the window and made eye contact with a creeper or two every once in a while.
"So what do you guys miss more?" Hiccup said from the drivers seat.
" Food!!" Merida groaned beside me. We all chuckled.
" I miss my phone!" Jack whined while slouching into his seat next to hiccup.
I looked down sadly and the image of my mom popped in my head.
" I miss my family " I said quietly.
After I said that every one stayed quiet. We hadn't talked about them in a long time and we knew that we didn't talk about them because we didn't want to remember. We didn't want to feel more pain than we already were feeling . Even though we didn't show pain we knew it was there. It was in all of us one way or another.
That's when I felt a cool tear stream down my face. I wiped it away.
" My brothers.. If they're alive they have to go through this.." Merida whispered.
I could tell she was holding back tears. She always did they when she was going through something difficult yet she refused to let out a tear. Yup.. Tough Merida. I remember her coming over to my house whenever her and her mother would fight she'd stay the night and we'd spend hours talking about our problems. We would talk about moving in together to get away from our parents. And talking about our classmates and teachers and the homework. We just had a good time.. Even if we did nothing, we understood each other.
I held Merida close to me trying to comfort her but like always she resisted and looked away. I let go of her.
"Shit "
I looked up and instantly I stopped breathing. Up ahead was a bridge with at least 30 cars piled up blocking the bridge and thousands of creepers pounding against them or stubbling around..
" no way we're going through there." Merida said.
"Yeah thanks captain obvious"
"Shut up grandpa!"
"Well.. Looks like this road trip is over. " Hiccup said while turning the car around.
"So much for a new home.." I mumbled.
As soon as he turned the car, we instantly spotted infected. There weren't a lot or at least we thought there weren't. We turned a curve.
So. Many. Creepers. Just gathered up were coming towards us. They were close.
" Damn it what now?" Jack asked desperately.
"We can't go back it's a dead end back there" I responded.
" but it's death also if we go forward " Merida said.
Jack brought out a gun and started to fill the magazine. I did the same. Merida brought out her homemade bow and arrows.
"Hold on guys" Hiccup said before stepping on the gas and driving straight toward the group of creepers.
"What the fu-!?!?" Jack shouted before being interrupted by the impact.
We drove through the herd. Blood splatter against the wind shield and we could here the cracking of rotten bones and slimy sound of guts against the wheels. We moved slowly but we were doing pretty good. At that moment the car stopped moving. I tried my best to look out the window. Dead corpse were piled under the wheels. There were too many and too much blood that the wheels were just brushing against the slippery bodies. Hic stepped on the gas again but the wheels only spread guts and blood even more. The infected started to pile against the car they started pounding against it and glaring their teeth at us, trying to bite us through the glass.
"Oh god we're gonna die!!" I shouted as they started to crack the windows.
Hiccup stepped on the gas again and again and again but we still didn't move. I looked at Jack. His eyes were wide and full of fear.
He suddenly tried to reach me.
"Punz-!!!!"
That's when the glass next to me broke.
