Oops... can't remember what chapter it is.... I think it's 14, I've lost count.

KELLIN'S POV

This morning was definitely emotional for us all, Alex in particular. He was completely out of it.

We sat in silence, trying to chew through a pigeon we'd caught earlier.  Alex broke the silence with a loud sigh. 'You know...' He said, making me jump slightly, no one had spoken for ages.

We looked at him, waiting to carry on.

He sighed again.

'I told him, Jack that is, that if I were to die, I'd want him to carry on without me, and not to be sad..he told me to do the same...But I also reminded him that If i turned into one of them that i'd want him to know whatever I tried to do, it wouldn't have been me, that the walker wouldn't have been me....and completely forget about seeing me like that, just remember the times when I was alive.....I think he'd want the same for me, right?' He asked. We all nodded. Jaime put his arm round him and kissed his forehead softly.

Hayley and Mike were cuddling together. Mike looked at her, 'Same for me, If I die....I want you to carry on without me.' He said.

Vic shuffled next to me.

'You're not going to die.' He said quietly. Mike looked sad. 'Viccy, I can't exactly predict the future. No one knows, we could all survive this, or we could all die.' He said.

I knew how close they were so Vic having to hear his brother talking about what would happen if he died must have been hard for him.

'Better get going then!' Tay said, breaking the short silence there was. Tay grabbed Hayleys hand and pulled her up. They'd become very good friends during the apocalypse. That was the only good thing that came out of this.

I grabbed a knife and put it in my belt.

'Ready?' I asked Vic, who nodded slowly.

*4 hours later....

VIC'S POV

The hot sun beamed down on us, making me feel slightly dizzy.

'Guys..' I breathed, slowing down. They looked back, looking equally exhausted.

'C-can we stop f-for like f-five minutes...' I managed to get out, clutching my sides. They nodded and walked over to the side of the road, where trees were so we could get some shade.

I sat on Kellin's lap, staring over to Mike and Hayley, who were cuddled together, talking about who loved the other one the most.

I sighed and rest my head on Kellin's shoulder.

'You okay?' He asked, running his hands through my tangled hair.

'Mhm..' I said.

'I love you.' He said.

Even though I loved him myself, my heart stopped.

'Y-you do?' I asked.

He smiled and nodded.

'You don't have to say it back if you don't...' He said.

I smiled and looked up at him. 'I love you too.'

He smiled and sipped some water, then passed the bottle to me.

After a few minutes of resting, Gabe got up. 'Okay, let's go!' He said.

My legs still ached a lot, but I wasn't as hot and worn out as I was before, so It was slightly better.

Not before long, we came across a group of walkers..only, it wasn't your average sized group. There were loads, and I mean, literally loads. Running and hoping they hadn't seen us wasn't a chance anymore when Hayley let out a loud squeak.

There lifeless beady eyes shot at us. They started to come towards us, some hobbling slowly, some running quite fast, actually..

I took my knife from my belt and charged at the closest Walker, stabbing it through the ear and into its brain. I did the same for around 6 others.

'There's too many!' Tony yelled, but I wasn't going to give up.

'Just keep going!' I yelled back, stabbing another one through its eye.

There were only a couple left when I heard a sickening scream. Dread hit me, knowing something had happened..and It wasn't good.

I turned around to see Mike on the floor, sobbing.

But it wasn't Mike who was injured.

I stabbed the last walker and ran over, trying to see what was going on.

Mike's shaking hand was covered in blood, Hayley's blood. My heart stopped, fear hitting the pit of my stomach.

Mike was uncontrollably sobbing whilst Hayley told him it was Okay.

'You're fine, you're okay!' Mike sobbed. Hayley smiled weakly, still clutching Mikes hand. I stood there watching, tears forming in my eyes.

Mike was clutching onto Hayley like his life depended on it. 'It's okay.' Hayley whispered. He shook his head. 'No, No! You can't leave me, you can't, please!' Mike sobbed. A tear rolled down the side of her face.

'Oh shit!' Mike screamed in frustration. Hayley grabbed his hand, her breathing going wheezy. 'It's okay, don't worry. I'll be at peace now, I can watch you a-as you win this a-ap-apocolypse.' She stuttered, smiling sadly.

Mike shook his head. 'You could've won with me!' He cried.

She shook her head and looked at me. 'Look after him for me.'

I nodded as more tears poured down my face.

Mike kissed the dying girls head. 'I love you.' He sobbed.

'I love yo-.'

Her eyes stared up at the sky, no life showing in them.

'Hayley?' He asked. She didn't move. 'Hayley!' He screamed, burying his face in her neck and sobbing loudly. He was crying uncontrollably and no one could stop him. All we could do was watch. Tay was knelt beside her, sobbing and screaming in anger. She was angry, we all were. Angry that this is what had become of the world, angry that we had to go through this. The dying, the killing...it never stops.

After a while, Gabe stood forward, a gun in his hand.

'Don't look.' He whispered. We all turned away, not daring to look.

A sickening crack echoed through the deserted highway, telling us that she was finally at peace, and wasn't going to become one of them...
