VIC'S POV

Gun shots forced my eyes open. What was going on?

'Get up! Get up!' I heard someone scream in my ear. I turned to face Kellin. 'What's going on?' I asked, panicked. He grabbed my hand and pulled me up. 'The walkers, they've surrounded the van! We're gunna have to leave before they smash the windows open.' He explained.

The realisation hit me and I took his hand and ran out of the van. My heart stopped. I wouldn't have been surprised if there were over a hundred walkers roaming outside. I've never seen so many.

'There's too many!' I screamed, clutching onto Kellin.

'They're already using guns, it will be easier than you think.' He said.

And he was right. Plenty were falling to the floor every second.

I took my knife out of my belt and lunged at any walker that came near. I winced as I plunged the knife into it's a eye and into its brain. No matter how many of these monsters you kill, you could never get used to it.

I snapped around when I heard the light wheezing of a walker behind me, only to see a bullet going straight through it's head. I nodded a thanks to the shooter, who happened to be Tay, as she could have just saved my life.

In no time, there were only a few left. Everyone put the guns back and started killing the walkers with daggers and knives.

'Everyone Okay?' I asked whilst clubbing a walker round the head with the other end of my knife.

'All good!' I heard Gabe yell. I sighed a sigh of relief whilst taking down another one.

Only a few were left, maybe sevenish.

I watched Andy and the way he killed them, he must have been extremely experienced. I was snapped out of my day dream when an ear piercing screech echoed through my eardrums.

'VIC!' Kellin screeched.

But it was too late, I felt it. The piercing of the skin on my shoulder blade made me let out a cry of pain as I dropped to my knees. It was over, I knew it.

'Shit!' I heard Mike yell.

I tried to hold back sobs as the thought of having one of my best friends to shoot me flashed through my head.

I couldn't think straight, the pain in my shoulder blade was getting worse.

I could see Kellin by my side through my blurred vision.

'Vic i'm so sorry, I-I...' He stuttered. 'You should've left it to me.' I could hear Mike say. 'Yeah but I panicked! I didn't know what to do.' Kellin said. Mike sighed. 'It's okay, it could've been worse.'

Could've been worse? What are they talking about?

'Vic, I really am sorry. Does it hurt?' Kellin asked. I frowned at him in confusion. What was going on?

'Sorry, stupid question. It's just..I panicked and e-everyone knows my aim is terrible a-an-' I cut him off. 'What are you talking about?' I asked, confused.

'Well, I just saw the walker coming up behind you and I knew it was gunna try and kill you so I panicked and and chucked my knife at it b-but well, I guess its pretty obvious that I missed a-and....yeah...sorry about that...' He said. 'But Mike got it so it's okay...' He added.

I frowned. 'So you stabbed me with your knife...?' I asked.

He nodded. 'Yeah Im so sorry, I can understand if you don't forgive m-me, I just like I said, I- I panicked a-and..' I put my finger to his lips and kissed him. I ignored the excruciating pain tearing through my shoulder. I was going to survive. I wasn't going to turn into one of them.

I suddenly felt a bit ridiculous that I immediately thought the worse, but they didn't need to know that.. they'd never let me forget that if I told them.

'Should we get something on your shoulder?' Gabe asked. I nodded and thanked him.

'Do you hate me?' Kellin asked. I held back a chuckle.  'Yeah, I kissed you coz I hate you.' I said with a smirk. He smiled back and pecked my lips. 'I really am sorry.' He whispered.                  'Don't worry Kells.'

Luckily, the Van had all its windows still in-tact and we all clambered into the vehicle and carried on driving East.

The sun was only just rising, creating a nearly unbearable light shining through the windscreen. Once again, Kellin was accompanying Gabe whilst I sat on his lap, often pecking his lips, with an bag of ice on my bandaged, but quickly healing shoulder blade.

'I love you.' He whispered. I smiled and kissed his forehead. 'I love you too Kells.'

'Can we stop here? This is beautiful.' Kellin gasped. I looked up.

Mountains reached towards the sky and reflected in a large lake. Blue flowers blossomed from trees and bushes on the side of the road. Eagles swooped over the lake, dipping their wings into the water, making flecks splash around. The sun was visible through the crack between two snow capped mountains, Deer roamed around, nibbling on the fresh, green grass.

It was perfect.

Gabe stopped the van in the middle of the road.

'We're stopping here!' He yelled to the others, who obeyed and followed him out the door.

They all gasped at the beautiful scenery. I smirked at took Kellin's hand, leading him to the lake.

We stopped at the edge, where the grass was at it's greenest and slightly damp. Our bare feet splashed in the edge of the shallow lake.

Kellin rummaged through his bag and took out a bag of Wine Gums. I chuckled slightly. 'Very romantic.'

He shrugged. 'They have wine in the name, what more could you want?' He asked. I giggled and kissed his cheek. He sighed dreamily.

'You know, I was a vegan before all this happened, but I guess know we have no choice.' He said.

'A vegan?!' I said, popping a wine gum into my mouth. He nodded and smiled. I didn't think of Kellin as a vegan.

'Not everyone loves meat you know.' He said with a chuckle.  'Yeah, I know. I was a vegetarian.' I laughed.

'I don't think I could've been a vegan though, sounds too difficult.' I said. 'Nah, It's much easier than people think.' He replied.

I smiled and chewed on another gum as we held each others hands and stared at the rising sun..

This was perfect, I never wanted to leave.
