Chapter 10
KELLIN'S POV
My eyes squinted open. I scrunched my nose up, feeling something gently tickling it. I groaned and opened my eyes, ready to catch the culprit. My eyes pointed down and looked at my nose. A small black and orange butterfly was perched on it. I carefully took it off and placed it on the nearest flower. I looked up to see Vic chuckling slightly.
'Good morning Princess.' He smiled. I laughed and shook my head slightly.
'You know, just because we've kissed a few times, doesn't give you the right to give me annoying nick names.' I laughed. He giggled slightly. 'Sure it does..' He said. I looked at him and smiled. '..Princess.' He added on and started giggling again.
I stood up and got changed quickly. Tay walked in our 'little circle' and started recapping the plan for the day.
'So remember, walking East, follow the stream, if anyone gets lost for whatever reasons, follow the stream downhill and you should catch up with us, we'll hit the dirt track and we'll keep walking it 'till it gets too dark or one of us is literally going to pass out.' She said, looking Jaime at the end.
'CoughJaimeCough.' Gabe said. Jaime frowned at him then smirked slightly. I took Vic's hand and we walked back to the main camp area and started getting weapons. I picked up a dagger and a small shotgun. I checked for bullets and loaded it to make sure I was ready.
'BOO!' Someone screamed in my ear. I turned round, ready to shoot.
I sighed and rolled my eyes when I saw it was only Alex mucking around.
He laughed at my reaction. 'Fuck Alex, I nearly fucking shot you.' I sighed at Alex who laughed again.
Hayley and Tay walked in.
'Ready Boys?' They asked.
'Yes Ms Williams, sir! Yes Taylor Sir!' Alex joked. Tay rolled her eyes. 'So we're men now are we?' She asked.
Alex simply smirked and said 'Dunno what you're talking about, Sir.' Alex replied and walked out.
'Men.' Hayley said. I frowned, charming.
*3 hours later.......
The hot sun beamed down on our sweating faces. I'm not sure if my legs could cary on going. I could hear the heavy breathing of everyone else.
A familiar groaning sound came from the trees.
'No, not now...' I cried, not wanting to have to fight a group of walkers.
'Come on, It shouldn't take long, there are only a few.' Vic said, gripping onto my hand. A walker saw us and bared its teeth, running at us.
'Shit! Why are they so fast?!' I screamed as it lunged onto me, trying to tear my flesh apart.
'Don't shoot! It'll attract more!' I screamed.
I took out my dagger and plunged it into the side of its head, making its mangled body go still and flop on mine.
'urggh!' I said, rolling the lifeless body of me.
A bony hand gripped my shoulder, I turned around to see a familiar face, only this time they had gashes down their cheek and only one eye, a bloody red socket where the other should be, their frizzy afro hair dangled in the face.
'Ray..' I whispered, before he swooped forward, snapping his rotting teeth in my face. I stabbed the dagger in his stomach, feeling warm liquid pour over my hands, he coughed up blood, but it didn't slow his pace, he pushed me with an unbelievable force for a dead person, onto the rocks. My head flung back on the rocks and smacked against them, leaving a ear splitting noise ringing throughout my ears. I saw his face up in mine, I tried to lift my hand up but it would move, I was paralysed for that moment in time.
