I felt like I have been utterly awful at posting consistently so here is a bonus chapter linking back to another part in the story!
Ester's POV
Toby, Sarah and I are back in Chicago now. Staying with David and Liza was really fun but I'm still a bit bummed that Adam stood me up. He seemed really nice too, he was funny and kind. Who am I kidding?! He probably just thinks I'm unattractive.
I trudged up to my room and threw my bag on my bed and whipped out my phone. I saw I had a text message, I opened it up and it's from Adam.
A- Hey sorry I couldn't make it, I'm really sorry I got my phone taken away from me! Wanna meet up again?
E- Sorry Adam but I'm back in Chicago now, sorry that happened
A- I'm sorry, I'm lying...
E- Huh?
A- Ester you are an amazing girl with one of the nicest personalities ever! You are beautiful and I have no doubt you will easily find a new boy who loves you dearly but I knew who you were when I fist met you, I just wanted to see David because I'm a big fan, I know I'm a jerk but I really like him! Sorry and all :(
E- 🖕
I threw my phone down and smiled. That felt good. Boys can be jerks but at least he was honest! Oh well he is right I will look for someone who actually loves me and doesn't use me.
