The Voice

Chapter 8

'W-Where am I. . .?'

Adriana could barely move her body. No feeling was felt in her bones. It was as if her body had shut itself off. Not allowing her to move no more.

Fear began to take over her. The same fear that reminded her the night the met Ario. Her breath began to worsen and deepen. Her heartbeat quicken. Baring her teeth together to hold her urge to scream. The feeling of warm tears ran down the side of her face. Never has she cried in so long.

Trying to calm herself down. Adriana tried to move her body. But only was able to make her muscles tense. It felt like the outside of her was frozen solid. While the inside wasn't.

She could hear the sound of a calm creek. It sounded close by. Adriana didn't remember being near any creek. Nor does she remember where she was before the darkness attacked her.

'Just Calm Down. Don't Allow The Darkness To Take Over You.' spoke a different voice. It didn't sound like Beast.

It silenced Adriana's thoughts completely. She had never before heard that voice. It didn't even sound anywhere familiar. Adriana finally was able to open her eyes. Seeing the night sky above her. Her breaths were deep and raspy. Feeling as if she started breathing for the first time.

Slowly sitting up. Adriana groaned when she felt a sharp pain on her side. Looking down at her side. Finding a piece of her shirt was shredded up. Showing a bloody cut on the left side of her stomach. Her blood made her eyes water.

"What in blazes happened?" Adriana wondered as she struggles to stand. Grunting in pain when the cut sent waves of pain through her. 'A Hell Hound, Or A Serpent Lupus Attacked You.' spoke the same voice. Adriana rubbed her forehead when the voice spoke. Wondering if that was Beast or someone else.

Clenching on to her side. Digging her nails into her flesh. Adriana pressed her body against a tree. Feeling a little off balance. Tears were threatening to fall down her face. A growl rumbled in her throat as she tried to maintain balance and pain. She began to start walking. Limping all the way toward the creek she heard.

'Don't Follow Toward The Creek. It's A Trick.' spoke the voice. Adriana didn't know if she should answer or follow the voice's directions. "W-Who are you?" Adriana asked aloud. Her fangs flashing out. Looking around her, trying to find if someone was playing tricks on her. 'Don't Fret Child. Everything Is Fine.'

"Adriana!" shouted Orion's voice. A relieved sigh escaped her lips. "I'm over here!" Adriana shouted. Not knowing where she was. She clenched on to her forehead. Feeling a growing headache. Her knees buckled and made her collapse. The rocks bellow scraped her knees hard. Blood already dripping out of the scrapes.

Arms wrapped around her shoulders tightly. The feeling of muscular arms enveloped her. She slowly looked up and sees Orion. He looked very worried down at her. A smile came to her lips once she sees him.

Orion slowly wrapped his arms around her body. Lifting her off the ground. Pressing her against his chest. "Where were you? You've been gone for three hours." Orion said worriedly when he began to walk. Not seeming to notice the scrapes on Adriana's knees. Or the deep cut. 'This Wolf Is Passionate For You.' Wanting to ignore the voice so much. She rolled her head side to side. Trying to ignore the new voice.

Lightly touching the deep cut. A startled gasp escaped once she felt it healing. While the flesh around it was puffy. 'Your Navajo Blood Is Helping You Heal.' The voice was beginning to irritate her. Adriana looked up at Orion. Seeing he was staring ahead of him.

'Who's talking to me, who are you?'

'My Name Is Chelan, Your Ascendant.'

Silenced from the words. Not knowing what to do now. Adriana didn't know how to respond. "Adriana, are you alright?" Orion's voice knocked Adriana out of her thoughts. Looking up at her boyfriend. He looked worried when he stared down at her. "I'm fine. Just hear a new voice inside my voice." Adriana spoke.

Orion stared confused but also stunned. He stopped walking to continue to stare at his lover. Adriana stared back. Feeling her cheeks grow a little warm. "You mean Beast isn't. . .there?" Orion asked confused. "I don't know, I haven't heard her sense I awoken." Adriana spoke truthfully.

Adriana and Orion walked toward their pack's home. She stared up at Orion. Seeing he wasn't paying attention to her.

Looking down at the ground. Wondering why she no longer heard Beast. And instead she hears a brand new voice. Closing her eyes, she tried to hear the voice.

'Calm Down, My Child. I Will Tell You Who I Am In Do Time.' spoke the voice.

Confusing her completely. Not knowing what the hell the new voice said. Adriana takes a deep breath. Hoping to hear the voice of Beast. 'I want to know who the hell you are! WHERE'S BEAST!' Adriana nearly screamed aloud.

"Adriana?"

Snapping her head up to Orion. Seeing he looked incredibly worried. "Are you alright? You seem dazed." Orion said. Adriana blushes in embarrassment. But she nods. "Just talking to the new Voice I hear." Adriana smiles meekly at her boyfriend. Earning a smile from him.

"ADRIANA!"

Practically screaming when she was tackled to the ground. She groans in pain and tried to handle the pain she felt. "What in bloody hell!?" Adriana said in a bad British accent. Looking at who tackled her to the ground. Finding her old friend Leo hugging her. But his aura was full of fright and fear.

"Leo? What the hell!?" said Orion. He grabs the back of Leo's shirt and hoisted him in the air. Leo let out a gagging sound as he was hoisted in the air. "It's Slade!" It took those two words to make Adriana go running into the house.
