Slade's Power

Chapter 10

Adriana and Orion bursted through the door and hurried inside. The smell of Slade's blood filling her nostrils as quick as the wind. Making her eyes water. Orion hurried beside her. The same worried look on his face. The two ran into the living room. Given the sight they didn't want to see.

Slade laid on the couch with blood all over. His entire chest was covered with gauze. Blood stained the gauze all over. Adriana noticed he only wore his khaki shorts. All over him was cuts, bruises and scrapes. She was able to see that his eyes were full of blood. The way the whites of his eyes were completely red.

Hurrying over to his side. Adriana grasped his hand. Feeling his pulse in her hand. Slade's pulse was slow. His blood was low. "Oh my god what happened!" Adriana asked worriedly. She felt Slade squeeze her hand. As if she was his lifeline. "I was attacked by some monster. It looked like a wolf, but had snakes for skin." Slade gasped out. Coughing up saliva and blood.

His words silenced Adriana. Remembering on the first past vision she had. Seeing the Serpent Lupus.

'The Hell Clan Is Rising.' said the Voice.

Adriana looks up at Orion, then to Bryanna and Patrisha. Every one of them were worried. She looks back at her friend. Seeing how sickly and terrible he looked. "The Hell Clan attacked you." Adriana spoke quietly. Slade stared up at her in confusion. "Hell Clan?" he asked confused.

"I know what attacked you. It's called a Serpent Lupus. Or Hell Hound. Hell Hounds are known to be a deadly race. They want to kill every wolf like Reavers did."

Once she had said the words. Every wolf in the room stared at her. Especially Slade. Rolling her eyes, Adriana let go of Slade's hand. "How do you know this?" Leo asked dumbly. Earning a hard whack by Mack and Bryan. Making everyone laugh.

"I was able to see the past. And there were Hell Hounds," Adriana spoke calmly. "I don't know why the attacked. I thought they had died out back then."

'His Power Is Dying.'

Adriana nearly felt her heart stop. Not believing the Voice's words. She began to cough madly. Feeling her head pump madly. 'Im Sorry,' began Voice. 'But I'll Be Talking For Right Now.' Then her entire side shut down. While new power took over.

"Adriana, are you alright?" Andrea asked worriedly. She reached out to touch her but Adriana swat her hand away. Her nails scraped Andrea's hand. "I'm fine." Adriana coughs out.

She blinked a few times. But not by her doing. "Slade's energy is slowly dying. The Hell Hound's teeth are dipped in venom. Just like a cobra." Adriana felt and heard herself say. Her voice sounded a little different. A little wiser. Also more older.

Inside Adriana was screaming inside. Trying to gain control of herself again. 'Release me now!' Adriana screamed in her mind. It felt like her humanity side was chained up like Beast was inside. She tried to break the chains that held her down. 'Im Sorry But This Will Be Short.' said Voice.

"Adriana, do you know how we can help him?" Patrisha asked hopefully. Adriana stared at her friend. Seeing the hope in her eyes. She wanting to know if Adriana could save her son. "To be honest, saving a person from a Hell Hound is very difficult. His power may die. And he'll probably become human."

Her words ended with everyone staring at her. All full of horror and were stunned. "I'm sorry, but Élan should know the rest about them." Adriana knew that that was a lie. 'Listen Voice, tell me who the hell you are! And why are you doing this? Where is Beast?' Adriana demanded angrily. She grinds her teeth together. Trying to stop herself from tearing her own body apart.

'My Name Is Chelan, Your Great-Great-Great Grandmother.' spoke Voice.

Once again her words silenced Adriana. Nearly could she even breathe. Taking a deep breath. Feeling herself take over her body once again. She stared at all of her friends. Seeing how worried they were.

"I-uh-need to be alone for a bit."

Adriana backs away and walked back outside. Ignoring the gazes her pack mates were giving her. Not feeling self conscious of herself. Feeling the way she felt before she met them.

Feeling her heart beat faster and faster. Not believing what the new Voice had said. Adriana looks behind herself. Staring at the closed door. Adriana turned back around and walked farther away. "Will Slade die?" Adriana asked to no one. Not knowing what the answer will be. 'I don't the exact answer. But his chance of death is fatal.' Chelan said.

Tears were beginning to threaten to fall. Adriana covers her mouth with her hand. Feeling her lips quiver by fear and sadness. 'I can save him can't I?' Adriana wondered. Trying to shake off the thought of Slade dying. 'You Can't Change Fate.' Chelan said, sounding wise.

Wincing at Chelan's words. Adriana no longer could hold her tears. She collapsed to her knees and continued to cry. She didn't care that her friends could hear. Not caring that they may big her why she was crying.
