"So, you find your big Homecoming date yet?" Camila's familiar voice entered my ears as I held my phone to my ear.
"No," I sighed, "I literally asked out every girl in school who doesn't take the short bus." I said laying back on my bed stretching all the while.
"Well, I don't take the short bus." Camila said and I ran a hand through my hair.
"Yeah but I'm only trying to ask out girls who I'm ninety nine percent sure will say no. You're a full one hundred percent." I smiled to myself before opening my eyes and looking up at the galaxy covered ceiling.
"Well, that was in the past. Things change people change." I heard her click her pen and I almost rolled my eyes at her sarcasm.
"Alright. Camila you gorgeous girl you, do you wanna go to Homecoming with me?" I asked and she clicked her pen again.
"No, I hate homecoming." She answered rather too quickly and I chuckled to myself as I rubbed my face in distress.
"Appreciate it." I laughed lowly and I heard her cute giggle.
-
"How do you like your Brussels sprouts?" My mom asked as I tentatively bit into it and I heard my dad pick up the house phone which was ringing.
"Mhm they're great." I lied as I chewed, "I'd have them every meal if I could."
"Oh I appreciate you calling." My dad said on the phone then hung up after a small goodbye.
He looked at me and my mom as I cut up my food at the dinner table, "Y/N, that was your math teacher Mr. Payne. He's worried you might be getting off the wrong foot since you didn't do your first homework assignment."
I sighed heavily while my mom looked at me shocked, "Y/NN, is this true?"
"I can't believe that you'd jeopardize your chance at the scholarship like this." My dad shook his head disappointed in me and I shook my head.
"No, no. I did my homework-"
"Oh, so you're saying the teacher's lying?" He cut me off and I looked at my parents as they waited for an explanation.
"I did my homework but I told him I didn't."
"So you're the one who's lying." He firmly said looking into my eyes.
"Yeah, I guess, in a way but-"
"You know what they say about liars, don't you, Y/N?" He cut me off again and I frowned.
"That-That their pants are on fire?"
My dad looked at my mom and they both nodded which caused my dad to turn back around and grab a certain shell horn.
"Oh no please don't." I sighed and he ignored me which made me stand up from the table and walk away.
"Y/N!" He called out for me and I stopped as they both followed me into our meeting room.
He scoffed in disbelief and blew into the shell letting out a loud horn sound, "Y/L/N family meeting will now come to order!" He spoke loudly and I just shook my head at this stupid shit.
"Y/D/N Y/L/N." My mother called out and they both sat down.
"Here."
"Y/M/N Y/L/N." My father called out and she nodded.
"Okay we're obviously all here-"
"Y/M/N Y/L/N!"
"Here."
"Y/N Y/L/N-"
"Are-Are you kidding? You know I'm here-"
