"You look like a prostitute."

I looked down at my outfit that was below my knees and over my shoulders. "No I don't."

"Yes you do, too much cleavage and your ass looks huge." Aubrey commented, shoveling more popcorn into her mouth.

I glanced back at my butt. "No it doesn't."

"Change." She said with finality, motioning for me to turn around and go back into the closet.

I slid off the dress and sifted through the closet in my bra and underwear, looking for something Aubrey would approve of.

"So what if I look like a prostitute?" I grumble. I loved Aubrey to death, and I especially loved when she picked out my outfits, but sometimes I just want to throw on clothes and call it a day, regardless of looking like a sex worker.

"Blake is staring at your ass all night, Aunt Beth thinks he is only using you for sex, she thinks because you dress like a hooker, you aren't a virgin-"

"But I'm not a virgin."

"But you don't want her to know that. So find something a bit more conservative."

I pull out a cream sweater that was a few inches short of being a turtleneck that covered my butt and replaced my leggings with jeans.

"Better?" I stepped out and spun around before her.

"Better. Where are you guys going?" She sat up, shoving more popcorn into her mouth.

"I don't know." I looked at myself in the mirror, happy with how I looked. "Some place Bethany likes. She's not telling me where."

"That's not good. Remember when she told us we were going shopping and she brought us to Kmart?"

I shivered at the thought of the catastrophic shopping trip filled with endless shopping carts filled with polyester and discounted makeup. "She won't mess it up. I mean, it's dinner. I would eat McDonalds if I had to."

"Why did you even propose dinner with Beth and Blake?" She scrunches her nose in disgust, clearly not a fan of the idea.

"Because I really want her to approve of us and I want her to see how great he is. Bethany is the only family I have left, and if Blake is going to be part of my family..."

"Madi! You ready?" I heard Aunt Bethany shout from the front door.

I shoved my feet in a pair of boots and blew Aubrey a kiss before going out to meet Beth.

"So are you going to tell me where this mystery restaurant is?" I asked, checking my phone for messages from Blake.

"Not until we get there."

I raised my eyebrows at her as we walked down the stairs. "Is there a reason you're not telling me?"

She rolled her eyes. "They have good food, that's all you need to know."

Blake was waiting outside in his Mercedes like he always was, ready for anything.

He got out of the car and greeted us, opening our car doors for us like a gentleman.

I was stuck in the back seat, with much protest, while Aunt Bethany sat in the front next to Blake, constantly scanning him and sticking her chin in the air.

"Uh, where are we going?" Blake asked, turning the key in the ignition.

"Just keep driving, I will tell you when to turn."

It was silent for the next few minutes, nothing but the sound of hot air pooling through the vents filled my ears.

"How are you enjoying Comet city?" Blake asked, trying to break the awkward silence.
