I hired a taxi to take me to Blake's mansion. I had no idea where it was, plus wearing a dress on my motorcycle might be a bit dangerous.
I sat in front of my closet for ten minutes trying to find something decent to wear. The only clothes that occupied my shelves were dress pants and blouses, or sweatpants and t shirts, there was no in between. Luckily, Aubrey came through like she usually does with a gorgeous evening gown. It hugged all the right places, accentuated the best parts of me, not to mention it was red, my favorite color. I finished the look with thick blond curls cascading over my shoulders, adding an elegant touch to my sexy ensemble. I definitely think Blake would like what he saw, if he hadn't already.
Ok, maybe I had a little crush, but now that I was done with Jason, I was allowed to have these feelings, and it felt really awesome to be single.
My jaw dropped in awe as the taxi pulled up to his "house", if such a magnificent building could be called that.
Damn was Blake rich.
His house must've been three times the size of my apartment building, made up of glossy white stone. Light streamed out from the windows along with rainbow lights being cast across the outer walls of the massive home. A large fountain greeted me at the front door and I felt like a princess standing in front of this castle of a living space.
I went up to the massive front door where I was greeted by a few security guards with lists.
"Name." One asked gruffly.
"Madisyn Sharpe, Blake invited me-"
"Madisyn!" I saw Blake waving to me from inside the house, coming over to the door with a wide grin on his face. "She's with me, gentlemen."
He offered me his arm and I took it, blushing, as he led me inside.
"So glad you could make it, this party is so boring." He said, sighing with distaste as he looked around the massive foyer at the A listers socializing.
That was hard to believe, there were people breathing fire by the bar. What rich people found boring baffled me.
"Can I get you anything?" He asked me.
"Vodka, on the rocks, please." I murmured, looking around at the party vibrating with activity around me.
He told the fire breathing bartender my order and my drink was ready in a few moments.
"Madisyn," he said, taking a sip of his beer, studying me carefully. "Has anyone ever told you how beautiful your eyes are?"
I blushed, tucking a golden ringlet behind my ear. "No, that's definitely a first, thank you." Most people didn't think they were beautiful, they just thought I was some sort of alien for having two different color eyes, one green, and one hazel. I really don't think anyone has ever called them pretty.
I don't know if it was just the fire breathing bartender, but I was starting to feel especially warm with Blake's playful gaze trained on me.
I felt like I should say something, but I didn't want him to stop staring at me, it felt too good.
Our moment was soon interrupted by a deep, confident voice. "Blake," A short fat man with thinning silver hair waddled over to the bar, a big smile on his red face as he greeted Blake. His upper lip was tucked under his white mustache making him look like an albino squirrel, one that was saving up for hibernation. "Mr. Grant wants to meet you. You know, one of the new stockholders for the company?"
"Father," Blake said. "Mr. Grant will have to wait." He looked over at me again, smiling. Mr. Rockwell took the hint and smiled at me too.
"Who is this lovely young lady?" After giving me a longer glance, I could see that he was ok with Blake blowing off the stockholder for me.
