"You're not making any sense." I croaked. "How... What..."

He sighed. "Come look."

I followed him to his apartment and into his office, where he plopped down in his chair and clicked away at the keyboard, a video starting to play on the monitor.

I watched as Firestorm disarmed a few of Hypothermia's soldiers in a bank, about to leave when one came up behind her and smacked her in the head with the back of a gun, before dragging her out of camera view by her feet.

My heart thudded against my ribs. "We need to find her. Where is she? You need to find her-"

"I'm already on it," He typed away at the computer furiously. "I put a tracker in her boot and unless they found it," He clicked the enter button and an address popped up on the screen. "then she is at the Werner warehouse."

I swallowed a lump in my throat, feeling like this was a trap. They obviously knew who I was now, that's where I trained. That's where I hid my motorcycle. It was a fatal trap, but one that worked.

"I'm going." I started to leave when Logan spoke up.

"I'm calling Sonic."

"No," I turned back around. "don't. I can handle this."

"Madisyn-"

"If he goes, they will see us coming. I can do this alone." It was only a half truth really. I had just gotten him back and I didn't want to be a chink in his armor if we were stuck in a bad situation.

He looked at me, lips pressed together and eyebrows furrowed in worry. "Be really careful, ok? We don't know who is there with them. They don't have cameras in there so I won't be able to see you."

I nodded. "I'm going to get her back."

*~*~*~*~*~*~*

Ten minutes later, I was crouched behind the first floor staircase in the warehouse.

Asshats came and went regularly, bringing in torture devices and delivering messages to each other, which made it extremely difficult for me to get up the stairs.

There was a five minute period when only one man came, so I took that as I opportunity to sneak up, knocking the guy unconscious as I did.

The second, third, and fourth floor were empty, leaving me to the undiscovered fifth floor.

I didn't usually go up there, there was no need to, which meant that I didn't know it and it's hiding places as well, making this even more difficult for me.

I crept up the stairs, hearing voices echo through the building, one of them being the infamous Dr. Laser.

Well isn't this just the easiest rescue mission of my life.

Once I had gotten to the top of the stairs, my eyes locked with Firestorm's scared ones. She was bound to a chair and gagged, a few other vigilantes looking the same way to her right and left.

I recognized the man to her right wearing the milky colored bodysuit as White Phantom, one of the more controversial vigilantes in the city who killed everyone who broke the law. To her left was a woman called Blast Wind, a lesser known vigilante who chose her moments very sporadically. Next to Blast Wind was an unfamiliar vigilante in a bright yellow suit and a geometrical patterned mask, a cocky smirk on his face despite being tied up. Upon further inspection, I saw a small inscription on his wrist that said Helix, making me remember that he was the one who had saved me from Amphitrite.

"Let's see," Dr. Laser paced in front of them, their eyes following his movements like a starving dog looking at food. "Any volunteers to go first? Names? Telling us would spare us the trouble of searching your face."
