Breathe

As I breathe in mountain fresh air,
I realize I'm here, and I made it.
I'm inhaling and exhaling air without you.
As I lay here and the stars light up the sky,
I realize I did something right.

I see the sun slowly start to rise,
And I think about you and close my eyes.
I imagine you here laying with me,
Smelling so good like an ocean breeze.
I breathe your scent in, taking in as much as I can.

Then I open my eyes and instantly realize you aren't here holding my hand.
But it felt as real as it could be.
As I start to walk down the hill and find some grass to lay on, even though I dream about you, I know your gone.

I breathe in this mountain fresh air one last time. And I hold onto these memories before they vanish.
Not caring if I vanish with them.

The day comes to an end, as this poem does too.
However, I have one last thing to say..

Take in the world, enjoy the nature, live your life, because one day it'll all be gone, and there won't be anything left to see.
