"Who was that?" Koshino asks as he looked at me while I wipe my face.
"One of Sendoh's creepy, crazy fangirls".
I looked at him, folding the handkerchief in my hand and shoving it in my skirt pocket.
"How long have you been here, Koshino?" I asked, while he stared at me with his mouth agape. "You fine, mate?"
"You didn't call me peewee dwarf." He says while scratching his temple.
"Want me to call you worse names than that, then?" I said glumly.
"N-no. Of course not!"
"How about munchkin? Fearsome gnome? Ant? Midget?"
"With all of those names, I think I'll stick with peewee dwarf." He says swiftly, his face bleak, eyes squinting.
"You still haven't answered my question". I said after sighing.
"I heard everything from the start. At first I thought she meant no harm but I was surprised when she did that."
I shouldn't have just said anything that made her emotions worse.
"Don't tell Sendoh anything about this." I told him, awaiting for an answer, I had a nod. "What are you doing here outside, anyway?"
"I changed into my practice clothes here."
"Excuse me?"
"There was noone here, I'm already late, I can't use the restroom inside the gym since Coach Taoka will see me, and the boy's restroom is too far away. Besides, if I even go inside the school building I'll probably be the only person inside."
"So you're scared of ghosts?" I said, raising a brow.
"Of course not! I'm a man! Ghosts are nothing to be afraid of." He hissed while crossing his arms.
I sighed and rolled my eyes.
So when I was talking to my dad, there's a half-naked Koshino wearing only his boxers, hidden while changing behind the bushes. I'm glad I didn't see any of that.
"You go inside first. I don't want them suspecting that you had anything to do with what just happened to me."
"Okay." He says, noticing the uneasiness that I was currently in. "You're going to be fine, right?"
"Yeah." I replied, trying my best to put on a face that was identical from what I just said.
"I'll go now then." He says before walking away to go inside.
Making sure that Koshino's not in sight, I buried my face in my hands and sucked in a deep breath. After doing so, I sat at the ground to calm myself.
My chest tightened, it was difficult to breathe. The emotions and rage that girl showed just a while ago was too fervent, I've never seen someone go berzerk like that just from jealousy.
Hearing those kinds of words was also new, like it's a destructive symphony that murdered my ears. It hurt, both mind and heart, and I didn't think it will pierce me to this extent. I need to let this go. I should let this go. I'm tougher than this.
I stayed there for a couple of minutes until I assumed that I was already fine to go back to the gym. Before I opened the door, I inhaled a deep breath.
Once I opened the door I saw Coach Taoka with a scowl, who was currently mad at Koshino for being late. Koshino's eyes were glued to the floor, and he kept apologizing. Why can't he just say that he changed his clothes at the bushes? That might as well calm Coach Taoka down since it's pretty hilarious.
