"Wa-wait, we'll go to Ryonan??? Yan-chan??!!" Yoko sucked in a gasp of surprise, her knees wobbly as we walked outside of our classroom.
"Yes, Yoko. We are. Do you want to come with me or not?" I replied, swinging my backpack. "Are you nervous?" I teased.
"Of course I want to!! And I'm not nervous! OH MY GOD YAAASSS I'M GONNA SEE RUKAWA AND SENDOH MY HEART CAN'T TAKE THIS!!!" She says as she walked in front of me, turning to greet me with a playful grin.
She's excited. I'm nervous. This would be the first time I'll see Sendoh play a game against an opponent who's not from Ryonan. And I get to see the people from Shohoku he tells me about. Will I hear Uozumi get called Boss Monkey? Will I hear Fukuda get called Fukusuke? Most of all, will I see that redhead Sakuragi Hanamichi Hikoichi and Koshino tells me about?
Sendoh was the one who texted me, saying:
We're gonna have a practice match with Shohoku today! Ayane, you can come if you're not busy! If you come I'll look at you everytime I make a shot! See you :)
"Hey," Yoko dragged the word, "who told you about the practice match?"
"A friend from Ryonan, of course."
"I didn't know you had friends from Ryonan!" she exclaims.
"Yeah," I was like, "they're a rowdy bunch." I looked at the ceiling, remembering the shenanigans the Ryonan basketball team did everytime I'm with them.

Sendoh's POVThe gym is starting to fill up with people as I glue my eyes everywhere, but Ayane is nowhere to be found. I hope she comes. I want her to see me play against someone from another basketball team.
I was still wearing my uniform, and from the corner of my eye I see Coach Taoka cross his arms, ready to raise his voice. Sighing, I stood up, speaking first before he could get the chance to scold me.
"Right, right, Coach. I'll change into my basketball uniform now."
"Coach, just let Sendoh-san be, maybe he's thinking about something." Hikoichi chimed in, trying to appease our coach.
