Dusk was now consuming the town whole, its shadows chasing what's left of the day's light away. It was 6:30 in the evening and just a few blocks away from Ryonan High lies the school where Ayane Koyuki studies.

At that moment Ayane was restless not because it's the day of her date with Akira Sendoh but because she still hasn't bought him any gift. Let me tell you this: She's excited, she really is. Ayane just spent too much time pondering what perfect gift there is to buy and now she's stuck in a jam since this is the day.
This is the day and she's running out of time plus she still has no gift.
To make things worse, she can't leave early--- for she had to tend to some school related activites.
A train ride is needed for one to be able to get to the outlet where she planned to buy her gifts for Sendoh. If she goes there after school she'll be able to buy the presents but of course she'd still be in her uniform and she had to return to her house to prepare and that would consume double time. Surely no one would want to attend a special evening in their school uniform right?
Decisions, decisions.
Oh, she was worried.
