Rosanna
Wednesday
"This is it." I looked around the building in awe. I could envision where the shelfs for shoes would go, the color of the walls, and so much more. Standing in the middle of the building, I knew that this was the place for my shop.
"This is it, dad. This is my building."
"Are you sure? You're about to put a lot of money into this and I want you to be sure."
I looked at him and nodded, "I'm sure."
"Alright. Let's go sign the papers baby girl."
Excited is definitely an understatement. I couldn't wait to get in here and start setting up. I'm ready for my vision to come to life.
After signing the papers and writing the check, I was given the keys to the building.
"Man, this is so great! Dad, I'm so excited! I can't wait to get in there painting and setting up."
"You don't want to hire people for that?"
"I mean I can paint. Why spend money on something I can do myself?" I shrugged.
"Alright Ro. It's your shop, but i'll help you with whatever you need."
I nodded, "I know Dad, let's go to lunch. I can go for some Mexican food right now."
Pulling up to the restaurant, we got out and chose to sit at a table outside since it's a pretty day.
As I looked over the menu I decided now would be a good time to tell my dad about Julian. My dad is like my bestfriend, I feel comfortable telling him about almost anything. Now everything though because it's just some things you don't tell your dad.
"So, Daddy there's someone new in my life."
He looked up at me.
"I met a man and his name is Julian. He works at a tattoo shop, he's a tattoo artist."
I couldn't really tell what he was thinking by his facial expression.
"I want to meet him."
"What? Dad, it's too early for that. We haven't even made it official or anything, like we're just dating right now."
"It's never too early. I want to meet him. Better now than later."
"But Dad-"
"You know what you went through the last time Rosanna! I refuse to let anything happen to you, do you hear me?"
"Can I take your order?"
Before I could say anything, the waitress came to take our order. After placing our orders and giving her our menus, she walked away. I looked at my dad and shook my head.
"Dad, Julian isn't like that."
"I'm sure you didn't think Mark was like that until it happened."
