Rosanna

Wednesday

I sighed with relief as I walked out of the bank doors, I was really starting to hate that place. Luckily, things for my store was coming together.

The contractors had already came in and painted, I had a few pieces of furniture in there already.

Looking down at my watch I saw that it was a little after 5:30. I had to be at my Dad's tonight for dinner at 8. It's a bit of a late dinner since I get off work so late.

Walking down the sidewalk, I headed towards the Bistro to get a Cherry Lemonade. It was a drink that I had recently tried and I was hooked.

Opening the door to the Bistro I walked in to see the line wasn't that long. Thankfully, there were only three people ahead of me. I stood in line checking the notifications on my phone. I was about to text Julian back until I heard my name being called.

"Rosanna!"

I looked to my left to see Tommy standing there smiling.

"Tommy. Hello."

"You look beautiful. I haven't been seeing you in the bank, where you been?"

I stood there looking at him. Confused as to why he was trying to hold a conversation with me as if our last few encounters were sweet.

"You know I only open accounts, Tommy. I'm usually in my office."

The line began to move so I moved up a bit, I sighed seeing there were now two people ahead of me. Why is this line moving so slow?

"Well I love to see more of you Rosanna."

I looked at him.

"Tommy, you have to stop. We tried dating and it didn't work. Besides, I have a boyfriend now anyway." I shook my head.

The look on his face was priceless. He literally looked taken aback and confused.

"What?"

"You heard me Tommy."

A look of anger crossed his face. He stepped closer to me. Before I could even process it, he was standing dead in my personal space. His hands gripped onto my arms tightly, making me wince in pain.

Nobody saw this? Nobody thought something was going on here?

"You bitch! You wouldn't give me a chance but now you have some boyfriend? Hoe are you crazy? Nobody rejects me! I wil-"

"Ma'am is everything alright?" I heard the cashier speak. Before I could reply, Tommy roughly let me go. This action made me stumble being that I had on heels but I caught my balance before I could fall.

"I'll see you around Rosanna." Tommy spoke as he made an exit.

I watched as he walked out the door. I went and took a seat at a table. I needed a second to get myself together and I also wanted to give Tommy time to go away.

Trying to pull my car keys out of my pocketbook, I noticed how shaky my hands were. My breathing was heavy and I felt like everyone in this place was starring at me. It upset me that everyone was nosey enough to look at what was happening but nobody was nosey enough to intervene.

I no longer wanted an cherry lemonade, I just wanted to get home.

Walking down the street to my car, I was very cautious of my surroundings. Once I got into the car, I locked the doors and took a deep breath.
