I pressed the speaker button on my cell phone and sat it on the bathroom counter, listening to it ring. Focusing on the task at hand which was trying to put some curls in my hair.

"Hello?" My dad answered the phone, laughing.

"Hey dad."

"Hey princess. What's up?"

I could hear a lady voice in the background and smiled. I knew my father had a lady friend but he had yet to tell me.

I was just glad he wasn't sitting around his house, lonely.

"Well Julian and I want to have dinner tonight. I was hoping we could have it at your place. I know it's super last minute but-"

"It's okay, Ro. I don't mind." I nodded and let go a sigh of relief.

"Okay. Well I'm going to Marci and her man because I still haven't met him. As well as Julian's mom because y'all have yet to meet."

"I, also, have someone I want you to meet so you should look forward to that tonight as well." My dad informed me.

"Okay Dad. I'm going to come over and start cooking in a few hours. I'm aiming to start dinner at 6." I sat the curling iron down before looking myself over in the mirror.

"Alright princess. I gotta go, I'll see you later tonight."

"Okay dad." Before he hung up, I heard female laughter. I shook my head, wondering who this mystery lady was.

Julian poked his head into the bathroom before leaning against the door frame.

"So my dad has this lady friend that he's going to introduce me to at dinner tonight. I wonder if it's Ms. Barbara from across the street."

"I have no idea who that is." He walked over to me, his 6'5" frame towering over my 5'6" frame.

I rolled my eyes. "You never pay attention to your surroundings."

"Shut up and kiss me woman." He grabbed my chin and placed a few kisses on my lips.

"I love you." He told me.

I pecked his lips one last time before pulling away. Julian pulled my shirt up and placed his hand on my stomach. "And I love y'all."

I couldn't help the grin that graced my face while watching him. "We love you too daddy."

Julian started walking out of the bathroom and I unplugged the curling iron before making my way out as well.

"Oh babe! You think you could get off a little early today, I'm trying to start dinner at 6." I watched as he put his jacket on.

"Yeah. I can do that."

"And don't forget to invite your mom. I know it's last minute so I understand if she can't make it. Let me know if she can't make it, I can pick Skai up while I'm out getting groceries." I made my way over to the bed and took a seat on the edge.

Julian came over to me and took a seat beside. "Relax baby. Don't put too much on yourself."

"I'm not Julian."

"Okay." He kissed my forehead before getting up.

"I gotta get to work."

Watching him as he walked out of the room, I went back to the bathroom to retrieve my phone.

I dailed my Marci's number and waited for her to answer while I went downstairs for some fruit.

"Rose. My dear, dear bestfriend. To what do I owe this pleasure?" She answered the phone all dramatically.
