Chapter 27

Rosanna

Friday

Walking in my store, I flipped the light switch and gasped.

It was beautiful. I'm seriously in awe right now and it's not even finished.

The walls were painted with a lime green and blue design. There were shelves for the shoes and benches for people to sit. The racks for clothing were in.

All that was left for the contractors to do was some space work for my office and the bathrooms.

"Wow. It looks great in here baby girl."

He stood beside me, pulling me into a side hug.

"I'm really proud of you."

I looked up at him with a smile on my face. It's not the first time he's said it but it definitely felt good to hear him say that.

"Thanks Daddy."

"C'mon, let's go get something to eat."

My dad started out the door but I stayed back for a minute. Just taking in the fact that this is actually my store. Taking in the fact that my dreams are becoming a reality.

I still hadn't come up with a name yet but I'm working on it.

Locking up the shop, I headed out to my dad's car.

We drove to Chic Fil A because I was really craving their fries and a milkshake.

I felt like I haven't really seen my dad in a while so I invited him out to my shop so he could see how it was coming along.

Him taking me out to lunch is a plus because I most definitely was hungry. Not to mention, it's a good time for us to catch up.

After ordering our food, we found a table to sit at before they called the name for our order.

My dad placed my food in front of me and took a seat across from me.

The first thing I did was put a fry in my mouth. I love Chic Fil A fries man, I swear.

"So how are you and Julian?"

"We're good. He actually asked me to move in with him." I poured my bbq sauce in my honey mustard sauce. (S/n: that's good asl. Y'all have to try it."

I watched as my dad glanced up at me.

"And what did you say?"

I half shrugged, focusing on my food.

"I said I would think about it."

"What is there to think about? It's way too soon to be living with this man Rosanna."

"I think so too but then again, I don't think it'll be that bad."

"Don't let that man make you do anything you don't wanna do."

I chewed my chicken nugget before speaking.
