Walking up to the counter in the restaurant with Skai on my hip, I placed our order and went to get a high chair for Skai. I saw Freaky at the table already so I went and put the chair at the end of the table.

"Wassup fam? Hey little mama." He spoke, playing with Skai's cheeks. She smiled her toothless grin at him.

"Shit." I shook my head, "We got hella shit to catch up on bro."

"Oh yeah? Wassup?"

"Mannn.. So the girl I told you and Wayno about before?" He nodded indicating that remembered.

"Well we done got real serious, talking heavy, at each other houses, Skai even likes her. She talking about her pops wanna meet me too."

Before he could speak I heard my order number being called.

"Hold on."

After retrieving the food, I returned to the table and put some fries on a napkin for Skai.

"So you getting pretty serious about her, huh? You hit yet?"

"Nah man. We not even there yet, honestly. Well I don't wanna come onto her like that because I don't really want her to think that's all I want or I'm rushing her or anything like that."

"You gonna take her to meet moms?"

Putting a fry in my mouth, I half shrugged. "I'm gonna have to eventually since i'm getting serious about her. Mama seen her once."

"Oh word?"

"Yeah man. When Skai was sick a couple days ago, Rosanna came through with a toy and whatnot for her and mama was there. She was throwing shade and shit, mugging her. It wasn't nothing too wild but.."

I looked to Skai had finished all her fries so I gave some more.

"Well you know you her only child, so she just looking out for you. She don't want you bringing in no hoes."

I nodded cause it was true. I knew my mother was just being cautious towards Rosanna, especially after what happened with Skai's mom.

"Bro the wildest shit happened the other day. So I'm shop working on a sketch for a tatt and Marissa comes in trynna get me to go out with her for lunch or whatever. Rosanna comes in outta no where and shuts that shit down. Next thing I know Ro and Marissa about to get into so I kicked Marissa ass out. Then I'm fussing at Ro for coming in, causing a scene and shit and I raised my arm to point behind her and she flinced."

"Damn yo. What she thought? You was gonn hit her?"

"Apparently. Later that night she ended up telling me about her ex nigga, turns out he was abusive and shit. The bitch nigga even raped her, now the doctor doesn't think she can have kids."

I got angry all over again just saying that shit out loud, the shit just made me lose my appetite. Luckily I was about done with my food anyway.

"Yo, forreal? That's some sick shit."

"I know."
