Rosanna

Tuesday

"Dad!" I called as I walked into the house.

I had stood outside knocking for about five minutes before I just decided to use my emergency key.

A few seconds later, my dad came walking down the stairs.

"Hey Ro. What are you doing here?"

I placed my hand on my hip while looking at him. "I can't come see my dad?"

"Of course, I just didn't expect you today."

He walked over giving me a hug. I caught a wiff of his shower gel, cologne, or something and had to pull away. The smell was so strong, it almost made me sick.

"Ouu, dad what are you wearing?" I asked him while covering my nose.

He furrowed his eyebrows. "What are you talking about? I'm wearing the same cologne I've worn for years. You love this cologne."

True enough, my dad has this Old Spice cologne he's been wearing for years and I've always loved it but for some reason it was fucking with me today.

The smell of it was making my stomach churn.

"Well today it's not sitting too well with me."

My dad looked at me for second but he didn't say anything.

I walked around him heading into the kitchen to raid his fridge. I swear I had just ate about an hour ago but I was hungry again.

My dad followed me into the kitchen, taking a seat at the table.

"When did you make this?" I asked him, unwrapping the aluminum foil over the dish of lasagna.

"Yesterday."

I nodded before making my way around the kitchen to fix a plate.

"So what's been going on? How's life?"

I smiled thinking about the things that had been going on recently.

"Well.. Julian and I are moving in together."

I glanced up at him to see his reaction but his facial expression didn't change.

"You're serious about this guy, huh?"

"Yes daddy. He makes me so happy. I love him."

He nodded. The microwave beeped and I took my plate out before taking a seat at the table.

"That's a lot of food on your plate, Rosanna."

I shrugged while putting a fork full in my mouth. Thank God I hadn't gotten it too hot because I definitely didn't feel like waiting for it to cool off.

"I'm hungry."

"Did you eat today?"

"Yes but I've been working so hard, I work up an appetite."
